› FORUM › DIET & CARE › UPDATED The 5 boy’s got neutered
Well we are off the the rabbit savvy vet again this Saturday for the boys ops, Dawn8940 is going to give me a much needed helping hand.
I am going to take some pictures and upload them again.
It will be 6 down and then one to go.
Very busy week this week with starting work and then getting the boys done.
Oh wow – what an endeavor to get all those boys done! I’m glad that Dawn8940 is going to be helping you – you should photo-document the adventure and post it up on Binky Bunny! Fortunately the boys should bounce back from the neutering fairly quickly, and be hopping around and eating in no time. I’d recommend checking on the neuter incisions about once a day for about a week to make sure everything is healing properly (I don’t know how with 5 you are going to keep track of who you’ve checked!)
How wonderful that Dawn8940 is going to help – yes, pictures please :~)
I know you will be relieved to get them all done and over with too.
Wow, 6 at once! Good Luck on Saturday!
((((((vibes for the boys))))))
great that dawn can help out! i’ll also be watching for updates & pics.
Four of the bunnies are all different, it’s only the two brown ones that are identical and I am only taking one of the brown ones for the neuter, so should be easy.
Wow what an endeavor! Did you get the “half dozen” discount
Are you keeping the whole lot?
Lisa
I checked with The Rabbit Shop (you know just to make sure of day) …. hope you don’t mind me doing that.
You are definitely right its for Saturday 23rd …. be there at 8.45am.
I’ll chat to you tonight about it all.
Dawn xx
Thanks Dawn
I did find the card last night, I had lost your phone number so I couldn’t ring you. They said 9.00am but rang a couple of days ago to ask if I can bring them in by 8.45am.
I will catch you on MSN Messenger or you can ring me.
I am getting them all done because I don’t want any more poor homeless rabbits that no one will look after.
If they find good homes it would be great, if not I will keep them, I have seen them from birth and I have become really attached to them.
I also have 4 cats, 2 dogs, fish and 7 rabbits it is really hard work, and I have just started work. I feel tired and run down.
Todays the day Dawn and I take the boys in for their surgery, It’s 5.30 am and I can’t sleep.
Going to be hectic taking them all in, I will keep you all updated.
(((HUGS))) To you two! Good luck and let us know how it goes!
UPDATE
Well all the boys had their neuters done today, they are all home and in good spirits.
Dawn and her daughter gave me a much needed helping hand, without them I would of been bu**ered.
Mum and the boys have been done now and the last baby will be speyed in 3 weeks, I can’t wait for that to be over.
I have pictures to upload and I will do that when I work out how to get them off my new digi cam.

yay! so so glad it all went well & that you had help ![]()
great pics too! don’t you just want to take advantage of the anesthetic & smooch their squishy bellies? i hope they all bounce back real soon (((boys)))
Wow. Just….wow.
Thanks for posting these pictures. I’ve learned a lot from them.
Congratulations and thank you for the pictures :~)
I’m glad that is all done for you.
Dawn and I got to cuddle them and observe that they come out of their anesthesia ok. Great time when they are so peaceful and not full of jumping beans. Only 3 more weeks and my last one will be done.
(((((((((((((((Big Hugs for Lisa and Dawn!!!))))))))))))))))))
that’s so great you guys were able to be together for that. the pics turned out really great, but i would’ve been a wreck watching that. i hate to see my baby (human or bunny) in pain or helpless. especially since you’ve seen them since day one. you must be so relieved for that to be over.
How are they doing today?
They are great, but that is understandable because they are young and also the male op is not as big.
They were eating their hay that afternoon, the last two to be done took a bit longer to recover and today are still resting more than the others.
The vet said to still keep them separated for 10 days and then cross my fingers they will all still be friends.
I keep their cages close together and while one lot are out they can still go up to the others, they still seem to be really good with each other so I am really hopeful they will be ok.
eeeeekkk it looks bad
willow is the name of my dog! she is a brown and white border collie,i am dreading having hopscotch done how you had all of those done at once i will never no!
Those pics are awesome! I’ve never seen a neuter on a bunny first hand. I’m so glad they are recovering nicely. My vet nurse made a suggestion when seperating buns for vet care….dab their head/neck w/ a drop of vanilla the day b/f, during, and after. That way they don’t smell weird to the other buns. Just a thougt/idea.
Hey Lisa
Glad to hear the boys are doing just fine …. I was going to send you a text today and see if all is ok. I’ve taken the day off today (Monday) … yeah I know what a slacker I am ….
I hope Tiger Lily and mmmm cant remember the name of your other bunny … anyways the two that were done last … I hope they are up and about now.
All so sweet!
Dawn xx
I have to admit to being a lil surprised that they let you in to take photos, but am very glad you shared them. How kind of Dawn and her daughter to lend their moral support and help. I hope the boys are mending well, sending healing thoughts to them all….
Wow Thanks for the pictures!! I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m sure they are like me…You’ve been so kind to share the pictures and videos that it really feels like we were there when they were born and grew up and through the neuters. It’s super cool of you to share this expereince with us and I’m so GLAD that everything went well!!
It certainly had been a great adventure and I have loved sharing it with all of my bunny buddies.
The last two were Tiger Lilly and Peanut.
They are all great now and back to their usual naughty selves, they just love keeping me busy, but hey if it helps me lose weight I don’t mind. 🙂
