so every morning I open the pen, feed them their salads.  they munch a bit and then hop out.  they hop 3 feet to the left and go into their MazeHaven.  that is the last I see of them FOR HOURS.  seriously hours.  some days I don’t see them emerge until pellet time at 9 PM!!!!!!!

I could have a 5 gallon bucket of parsley, pellets, and fruit in the living room (20 feet away), but they wouldn’t budge.

if I didn’t go on BB everyday and LOOK AT PICS OF MY BUNNIES ONLINE, I swear I would forget I EVEN HAVE BUNNIES!

it’s funny… but it’s kinda not.  I have tried sitting in their room for long periods of time to interact in their space, but they don’t even budge.  I’m out of ideas, besides finding a way to sit in the maze myself.

I have an empty corner in my living room… where Mead’s cage/pen used to be Pre-Max.

I am considering taking apart the maze and cleaning it up, it’s due for a good wipe down anyways, and relocating it to that corner of the living room.  they can still have it, but they’re just going to have to come in here for it.

what do you think, should I give it a try?

or should I resign myself to enjoying everyone else’s bunnies via the internet?

you are not wrong in wanting more attention from your buns! i’ve been feeling the same way since Honey has been bonded to our newest, Clyde. She really wants him more than anything else in the world, and she used to run up to the pen when I walked by!

I would say bringing the maze out where you can observe/be a part of is a good idea!

Hahahh after ignoring the maze for one week (standard bunny disapproval time) they are in it ALL the time. Mine are actually driving me batty right now too, as they won’t come out of their condo at all lately-at least when I see them- (the maze is part of their condo now too.)
Last night I must have been home at the right time though, they came out and ran around, Rupert did couch binkies which I’ve never seen him do before (except that it’s chucks couch and he pooed/peed all over it in the process, probably binking because he was so pleased with marking chucks couch…) but cute nonetheless!

Yeah til Ruby and Cotton had a falling out I was the the 3 is a crowd person.  They were together and Cotton had no interest in coming up to me and diggin on my shirt anymore

So after their falling out I have them seperated.  I get more attention from both of them and I like it.  So mine will remain single.  I don’t want to be lonely

                YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

well… after the initial disapproval and thumping, Max and Meadow both decided to explore their “same maze, new location!”

Meadow chinned it then hopped right in.  Max (my cautious hopper) had to check it out for a good ten minutes before venturing in.  he would keep hopping back to the bunny room, looking around, looking generally confused and unhappy.

BUT!  already, 24 hours later they are speeding in and out like it’s nothing.  they’ve been interacting with us more, b/c they’re actually in the room with us, and so far, it’s been AWESOME!

Bunny Approval ??? Well I never! This sounds good…til one of them decides to drag the remote-or something- into the maze & it’s never to be seen again.

Good bun adjusted to having it in the family room.  They do not like change I know and it was funny that he kept looking for the maze in the other room lol.

Thats great that you have more time interactions with them now.

i had to take a CPR class at school today… you should have seen me before leaving for class… this was their first time having full house access while i was going to be gone longer than a couple hours (i ended up being gone about 6 hours). normally, if i were going to be gone this long, i’d let them out, but bunny-gate them into the bunny room. but since the maze is in the living room now, no can do. i can’t DENY them access to their maze. i can’t PEN them all morning and afternoon. so i had to make DOUBLY SURE everything was picked up, remotes included! they did great tho. they were in the same spots as when i left this morning. of course, we all know, this doesn’t mean they weren’t doing bad bunny things while i was gone… :o/

Boy I wish I had your chutzpah, Beka, I would NEVER be able to leave my buns for that long without them being in their night pens with the door closed so kitties don’t harass them. I get nervous enough just letting them out in the xpen for hours at a time out of my sight so they get exercise (which of course they don’t bother with anyway…little bunny lumps that they are….)

I would love for my three to have run of the house (were they all bonded) so that they would be less lonesome and bored…and maybe interact with me a little more. ;_; Fiver is great with me, picks right up where we leave off each night as I let him out on my bed. Pip is VERY personable and will actually sit on her haunches and ask anyone in the house for pets as you go past the xpen…but Mimzy is a complete opposite to both of them. He wants a nice, quiet, dark space where he and his emo self can hide and only comes out to use the litter box or eat.
