Update: we’re getting her!!
I’ve been keeping an eye out for a rabbit to bond with Chester after we lost Cooper this summer. Chester has been doing fine on his own, so thankfully I felt no need to rush into anything. After a few not-quite-right candidates I met this sweet girl yesterday. She’s 7 months old (Chester is 1.5yrs), will be spayed next week, already litterbox trained, very curious and active but loves to be pet (when I moved away from her after several minutes of petting she immediately hopped over and insisted on more pets). I haven’t committed to her yet (and haven’t been formally approved by the rescue, but the meeting went very well), but I’m pretty sure we’re going to get her. Just wanted to share the cuteness!
Thank you for sharing the cuteness! She really is a pretty girl! And her personality sounds adorable too =)
Awwww…she’s adorable. Good luck ![]()
She’s so cute!! Good luck!! ![]()
I’m such a sucker for lops! She’s adorable! Hope it all works out. ![]()
Thanks all! Looks like I’m all approved, now the hard part is convincing myself it’s ok to open my heart up to another bun. It’s so hard after a loss but I know how happy Chester was when he was bonded and I’m trying to remember that his happiness is important too. And the new girl is super cute so that helps ![]()
Chesterella =)
Ha Bam! Not sure that will go over well with the family. But, she is officially coming home Tuesday after her spay!!!
What sort of names do you like? Is there a particular theme?
She looks like a
Penelope, Holly, Maple or Amber to me. ![]()
Such a sweetie! I love her!
To go with a Bunnicula theme, you could name her Harold (yes, Harold can be a girl’s name). ![]()
EDIT to add: You signature is big. Are you able to make it smaller?
Sorry about that. Anytime I do something on BB from my iPhone it messes everything up. Back on my laptop and it looks ok now.
I think she’s a cutesy rabbit so I’m looking for a cutesy name. I lean towards liking ones ending in y/ie for girl names. I also once had a girl named snickers and thought that was fun.
Front runner names are Lucy and Ellie but not sure if either feels right. Ellie is because Chester was named after Chester A Arthur (we adopted him on Presidents’ Day weekend) and his wife’s name was Ellen.
I really dont know why but i just love the name Petunia !! She also does look like one.
I agree on the y/ie ending names (my bun’s name is Moxie) but there are still nice names out there too that don’t end in y/ie.
Ellie and Lucy are cute. ![]()
Haha! I thought maybe he was named after the president and then thought naaaaaaaah. Ellie is cute.
Oh and Daisy! Daisy is cute!
You could name her Ellie Mae
Oh congrats! So cute, they’ll be like a pigeon pair. Best wishes for an easy bond.
I’m really liking Ellie for her name.
Any update? Are you getting her today? ![]()
I like Ellie, short for Ellen Arthur. Found a pic of her (Ellen Arthur) on Wikipedia. She was beautiful. Your prospective girl is beautiful too, so I vote Ellie.
So they called yesterday to say the vet couldn’t fit in the spay until Wednesday so tentatively I’ll be getting her Thursday. Right now 2 of my kids are lobbying hard for Lucy, so I think we will wait until she’s here to test out names. I also added Libby to the mix because it is the height of Pumpkin Spice season and Libby canned pumpkin is everywhere.
{{{VIBES}}} for a safe spay! I’m sure you can hardly wait to bring her home. ![]()
(((((((Safe spay)))))) from me too!
{{{vibes}}}
Congrats on such a pretty girl…and I really like Libby as a name!
Spay was successful and the little lady is resting comfortably. Looks like tomorrow will be homecoming!! Thanks for all the good wishes ![]()
Yay, glad the spay went well! Plus I see by your siggy you decided on Lucy, cute!
I think we need an update with pictures!!
