        Hi all,

I posted a question about my bun being bitten last week, everything is fine with that puncture wound, but now I think she was bitten again by her lip. We’re staying with my parents who also have a bunny but is extremely aggressive – we have that bun in her x-pen and Anise free roaming – however she goes up to the x-pen cautiously and that’s when she gets bitten.

Anise seems fine and is eating and acting the same, I tried to wash the blood away but its very difficult – should I do anything else? I feel absolutely terrible that this happened again.

If the wound is uncomplicated, keeping it clean will be enough. It’s probably not much point in putting on antibiotic ointment if its on the lip, because she’d just lick it off. Inspect the wound daily.

A deep wound or a wound that splits the lip should be seen by a vet. If you are able to take pictures it would be very helpful. It’s very good that she’s eating like normal.

You must make sure there’s some sort of barrier between the aggressive bun’s cage and Anise. Rabbits are curious and they will want to go near another bun. They will keep doing this even if they have been bit.

Maybe you could place the cage on a table where Anise can’t go or restrict her access to the room where the cage is.

I agree 100% that you need to modify their housing so this cannot happen, and if it seems deep or split, then she should be seen by a vet. Bunnies can injure each other pretty seriously though a single wall of an x-pen.
