So this is something I’ve noticed with fluffykins right from the beginning. After a long nap he’ll sit up in an upright position. Not a loaf. He’ll be very very still for a few seconds then he’ll arch his back (still sitting upright) upwards, exactly like a cat! He might do that once or twice, then sometimes yawn and that’ll be it.

Sometimes he makes a pffhhh kind of noise haha. I don’t know what end the noise comes from. It reminds me of an old man kind of noise. And sometimes after arching the back up high, he’ll put his head down between his back legs to clean. He’s not eating cecotropes because he doesn’t come up chewing. When he goes in for cecotropes he just sits up, still, then goes down to eat. He doesn’t do the catlike back arching thing.

I feel like he’s doing a sort of burp thing? Or having some tummy discomfort but only because in humans, before we burp we might inhale our tummies in like that.

I don’t normally hear anything from his stomach but I’m always massaging it for fun and sometimes I can feel tiny bubbles. Like I say I’m always picking him up or playing with him on the floor and it’s become a habit pretty much every time I touch him he gets a tummy massage. I wonder does he have gas issues that are being kept at bay by the frequent tummy massages? (Even though I don’t do it for this reason – I do it because his tummy is the furriest part of him )

Edit: this posture just seems / feels different to his normal stretching out (front legs out and back legs out streeeeeetch culminating in a yaaaawn. With this one he looks uncomfortable but I’m stumped because it lasts for the seconds he’s doing it then he’s done. No other sign of uncomfyness at all.

That’s just normal stretching! No issues.

Thor does the same thing when getting up from a nap I’ve been meaning to try to get a video of it, because it’s my best chance to catch the elusive/cute/scary bunny yawn on camera! The quest is on.

              Oh. Ha, feel silly

I’ve held off asking this since day one because I did (I swear) figure it’s some sort of stretching but after reading that ‘do some buns just get gas’ thread it got the thinking clogs turning…

The bane of online forums! You read about something then suddenly see it all over your own life *shrug*

Lol I do that all the time!! Read about something (usually a scary bunny ailment), then become convinced I’m seeing it. The thing is, rabbits do REALLY STRANGE THINGS! Even after 9 years of living with lagamorphs, I still see weird behavior that panics or puzzles me quite often. So, always better to ask than wonder in silence ?.

And yeah, Luke does that too. He also does this odd tucking his butt in maneuver which really freaked me out when I saw it in my original bunny, Bun Bun. I thought it was a spinal issue!!

The stretch/yawn combo. Love those. They are very hard to catch on camera!!!
