        ,Hi everyone

Sadly on February 1st Dusty was found in her cage barely breathing. She died minutes later in my arms.

Me and Ivory miss her with all our hearts. Every day I wake up and go through it all over again when I realize it wasn’t a dream. She was just 4 years old and had so much more life to live.

We don’t know what could happened, as she was fine that morning. The worst feeling is knowing that their was nothing you could have done to save her. She wasn’t sick, she was eating, drinking and going the bathroom completely normal.

Does anyone know what could have happened? Heart failure?  A seizure?

The first couple of days were the worst for Ivory, I was afraid she would never be the same. Luckily for me she is back into life. She was recently moved inside and is a free ranged indoor bun. She loves it! I have never seen so many bunny flops in my life! She follows everyone around and has turned into a little princess, throwing her bowl around when she wants food and excepting everyone to move out of her way when she hippety hops around the house. It makes me so happy knowing she’s happy again.

I’m sorry about little Dusty . It’s hard to say what happened; a necropsy is the only way to truly know but it is not always conclusive. That’s good that Ivory is handling the loss well and that she is happy again.

I’m sorry to hear about Dusty and your loss. Luna is correct – it is usually impossible to know. Sometimes they hide their symptoms and other times it was just something sudden and unexplained. You gave her a good life and a sweet bunny friend. Ivory must be glad to have your companionship inside. Grief will heal with time but it helps that you have Ivory to share those memories with. Binky free, Dusty.

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s not possible to say what happened, as the others have already said. Rabbits can go so quickly. I often feel we’re only borrowing our buns. It’s very painful to lose a young rabbit and have no clue what really happened – but without any warning signs, we can’t intervene.

I’m glad Ivory is fine and happy. many buns do very well as onlybuns when they have a loving human family.
