My little girl just hit sexual maturity and lives with her neutered brother and spayed sister. They have been close to each other until this weekend. Suddenly her and her brother are fighting and all three are extremely territorial! They live in a large x-pen and I was going to seperate them but haven’t yet. Any ideas as to what’s happening??? Please help, I don’t want my babies to hurt each other!
I have a call into the vet to get her fixed ASAP just so y’all know.

It’s probably best to separate if there is aggression. Somebunny could get hurt. There’s a good chance, if you don’t separate them, that you will need to rebond after she is recovered from her spay.

Personally, I would separate until several weeks after her spay. This will give her hormones time to call down. I would keep her in an area where she can still see and smell the others.

I’m no expert on bonding. This is just what I would do. Someone else might have other advice. I just know hormonal buns can get super territorial and dangerous ..

That’s what I’m thinking too. They have calmed down for the mean time but that doesn’t mean there won’t be another hormone flare up soon. :/ I have looked all over the web and everyone kind of says this can’t happen; only males hit puberty and start arguing. I beg to differ!
Thank you for the advice and I will go ahead and swperate her!

Hormones cause issues with bonds/bonding in both genders for sure. Females are actually notorious for being more territorial than male rabbits so I’m not sure why people would think it’s just males.

I agree with LPT. Better to separate now and avoid injuries or damaging the bond between the spayed/neutered bunnies. But it sounds like that’s what you’re doing. Best of luck in getting her spayed and these three back together again.
