So I’ve noticed twice in the past two weeks that someone hasn’t eaten their cecals twice (the cecals look normal and not mushy or anything), I have no idea who, or maybe they’ve both failed to do so once, that is the downside of two bunnies sharing a litter box! I’m not worried yet as the incidents were several days apart, I think maybe I over did it with new produce, I moved next door to an awesome grocery store with a nifty variety and while I tried to introduce only a little of something new at I time, I may have gotten overexcited and introduced two new things, not at the same time, but too close together. So my current plan is to put them on just romaine, hay and their normal amount of pellets for a few days to clear it up. At what point should I be worried about uneaten cecals and visit a vet, how frequent is too frequent for that to happen? Should I toss the new produce (escarole and wheat grass) and not do that again? Or toss this batch and reintroduce seperately and more slowly at a later time? And how long should I stay with the ‘romaine as the only produce diet’ and when should I add back in some already tried and true produce? This is actually the first time we’ve had this problem so I think overestimated how tough their little stomachs seem to be regarding new veggies, although I know Kate had a problem with poopy butt when she was living at the shelter, but I think that was the result of too much low quality pellet food, but that makes me think it might be her. Thanks for the advice!
