Today, Penny started face-humping Max. I pulled him off of Max but this worries me. Max was trying to get away- and I’ve noticed him nip Penny’s rear before when Penny is in his way. I didn’t think anything of it at the time, but now I’m worried. Penny was just neutered, but he NEVER humped Max before. What’s going on??

Even though he was neutered he is still hormonal. Hopefully since you had him neutered right away this behavior will stop.

The same thing happened with my little dutch pair but Peppermint started humping Peaches a few days before his neuter and it stopped after his neuter luckily.

Maybe it’s a dominance issue? Hopefully things will settle down for them!

Could be stress related too if he’s still adjusting the the new environment.

yeah i’m not too sure. they had their social order all figured out before the neuter so i think maybe penny needed to reassert his dominance after the surgery? he was the top dog before, as well.

but they’ve been flopping and cuddling all day after, so i’m much less worried.
