Being a student in the city I dont have a permanent home…this means that on every holiday I go back at my parents (2 weeks on Christmas, 2 on Easter and 2,5 months in the summer). The rest of the year I live in an apartment in the city. So my bunny comes with me every time…she is going to have 2 different environments to live in for the next couple of years. Then I finish college and who knows where I’m going..

How can this affect my bunny?? Is it bad for her? I mean she wont be able to look at a place and  think “home”…What can I do each time in order to make it less stressfull for her and not change her habits every time we need to move??

Does she have a cage at each place? Or do you have one that you bring with you each time? If it were me, I’d stick to bringing the same cage to each “home” for her, so she always has the familiar surroundings, and her familiar scent. Keep her same toys and such too, don’t have 2 sets.

Υeah I only have one cage. No money to afford another one anyway…I always keep her cage the same. Plus everytime in my parents house I put it at the same place in my bedroom.

              She should be fine then.

She’ll be fine! We’ve taken Otto with us to our parents’ houses multiple times and with each trip he gets more comfortable. As long as she’s not an especially nervous bun, she’ll be fine.

If that’s what you always do, she’s probably used to it. Some rabbits really, really don’t like change… but most can eventually adapt to anything. Especially if her cage and her caretaker (you!) always stay the same! Be aware that some rabbits will leave territorial poos when they change environment, but after awhile it should lessen. It’s much better for a rabbit to be moved from time to time with a person they trust, than be in one place but get inferior care.

Thank you that’s a relief!! And she will get to know the other members of my family better. So when I’ll leave for 4 months (studies in Spain) she’ll still have someone who knows (my mother).

I agree with Beka, and I would like to add that some rabbits really tolerate change of environment well, better than others. You would notice right away if she was upset by this change.
