Bing’s whole body starts to spazz when he eats bananas. Is this normal? He really likes them, its his favorite fruit.

Awww I love it! I don’t feed mine banana very often because I don’t like bananas so they rest just goes to waste… and I’ve never noticed that, but it’s hilarious! I’m going to go buy one now just to give them a piece and see if they do that!

Bingley, I’d answer your question, but I don’t know… I limit mine to a couple crasins or one grape a day, if that. I limit carrots too. But I have two piggies so I have to watch their diet for them since theyd both scarf down whatever i set in front of them, lol.

4-5 slices would be too much if it was his first time eating banana. However, if you started with less and built it up and he doesn’t show any ill effects, it’s probably ok. Not every day. You never what to overload their tummies with sugar as it’ll kill off the good bacteria. It’s always good to limit sugary treats. If only I could for myself!!

He loves food and anything that might resemeble a food he may one day eat. I walked into my room today and he was eating my sister’s purse. He found my stash in my room, which is just wheat crackers, on top of my fridge and now always checks there for food. I ahve to hide everything! Its not his first time, more like his 7th or 8th time, but I’ll definitely put a cap on his sugary treats. Its too cute to watch him eat I sometimes forget about his diet!

4-5 slices is going to make him fat, and could give him the runs. I limit banana slices for those reasons. This morning I had fresh bananas (which somehow Sammy knew. Brought them home last night .) She begged when my hands were empty, so I peeled one and we shared it. I give her the tips, which can break off smaller, then she had 1 & 1/2 middle pieces, about 1/4″ thick. so 2.5 total. I showed her my empty hands again when I finished, said “all gone” and she went under her basket.

The potassium is good for them and us, but the sugar isn’t. Rule of thumb for all treats and even foods: too much of a good thing isn’t good.

Jersey, that’s great! You have the best cameras. The twitching is totally normal, too.

OK, I’ll sound weird here, but I LOVE the sound they make eating nanners. Squish, squish. Just too cute.

btw, love your floor tiles. Almost got some just like it at Big Lots yesterday.

actually, that’s vinyl. I’ve since replaced it with large tiles though! A bargain I got from someone who gave up on their own tiling job. Turned out to be just enough to cover the same area.

I’ve tried to get him to eat other greens and veggies, but he doesn’t like them. Or, doesn’t eat them. He seems to only like cilantro. As for anything that I happen to be eating, he wants that, but the stuff that he need to eat, not so much… Sigh. I don’t want him to be fat either. He is just too picky and wants only the same thing.

I’m going to have to watch my closely when I give them banana sometime. See if they wiggle. LOL

When Eddie gets super excited – like when he gets banana – he races around and thumps.

                              It’s butt-twitchin’ good!

Pepper does that when she gets the occasional blob of peanut butter (I occasionally give her some when she’s in a prolonged shed, for a touch of extra protein and oil)
