From Mimzy. Loud enough I could hear them three feet away. I thought it was me at first. 0_o
So I dragged him out of his pen (he hates handling) which is now on the top of Pip’s as I thought a change of scenery would do him good with how low he’s been lately. I gave him two .6 ml of generic mylicon and waited for something to happen. Within about an hour, he’d had enough petting and was exploring the bed. I just got the towel thrown over Fiver’s pen in time to keep them from fighting.
When I put him back in his pen, it took about 30 minutes for him to start munching away on hay and drinking. My gosh, he drank for twenty mintues at least. He’d been in the xpen with Pip earlier in the day and hadn’t drunk much/eaten any of the orchard grass I put in with him. He still isn’t eating very much and I found pearl stirngs and smallish poops in his box last night…there were more today and they are almost normal sized, but, not quite to my liking yet.
Should I withdraw all green foods and just give him hay and cut down his pellets? Since his last tummy upset (the one where he thumped to let me know) I’ve been trying to be so good with what he eats. Maybe he’s not getting enough exercise? Maybe his stomach was just so empty from the day? Or could he have eaten something he wasn’t supposed to that I didn’t see? (Cats eat their food right overhead on the counter and I try to keep kibbles from dropping in the xpen, but, you never know.) He has finished shedding, so where is the hair coming from that was in his poop?
What else would cause tummy rumbles in a bunny? He didn’t appear to be in pain, it was just so loud that I figured I should dose him with the mylicon rather than wait till he was uncomfortable. Did I do the right thing?
I feel like such a crappy bunny mom. I can’t seem to do anything right lately. >.<
