trying to protect my bunny from everything

the puppy he is still being immunized so he hasn’t been outside (on the ground), when the puppy is out, my bunny is in her cage in the same room. i let her out on a blanket in the same area when he is in his crate (she hates skidding on the floor lol). The issue is, soon, i’ll be walking my puppy outside. And after he is properly immunized, i wanted to introduce them, but i don’t want isie to potentially catch anything from him. I have been looking into flea and worm preventatives to keep him safe, but most importantly, i want isie (the bunny) safe from mites and fleas and whatever other gross things he can pick up and spread to her. Any preventative recommendations? i am planning on asking my vet if i can use heartgard and revolution on the puppy for prevention. I don’t know if i can give isie revolution as a precaution as well though, isie is a house bunny/couch potato, so she doesn’t go outside, but bailey will be in and out of the house.

Revolution is very good. It kills both internal and external parasites, and best of all, it’s bunny safe. You should NOT use Frontline or any other compound that has fipronil in it, because fipronil is very very toxic to rabbits. Don’t even use it on the dog if the dog and bunny will have contact.

We have many members who have both dogs and rabbits, or cats and rabbits, and the rabbit stays inside but the dog or cat goes in and out. Fleas sometimes happen, but you can get rid of them with Revolution or Advantage (imidaclopride)

Thank you so much! I’ll stick to revolution then! Maybe a flea collar while he’s outside and remove it when he comes in.
