So Marshmallow gets to play in my bed room. I have an appartment with roomates, he lives in my room with me. I dont’ let him under my bed, as there are things under there that I would rather not have bunny-chewed and investigated and cords. I put a mini x-pen stretched out attached to the bottom of my bed, so he can’t get under there. It works great, except a few times it has slid down and where the pen meets the wall there was a gap and he got through. Since then I have re-attached it where it can’t slide. However, that end of the pen has one mini panel, that isn’t attached firmly to the bed or wall because my bed has rounded corners. Marshmelly can move it and lift it, but not enough to get through. It’s one of his favorite past times, lifting it up and trying to ram through it. Now the bad part comes in. he has gotten into the habbit of digging at the carpet and biting at it by that area. I guess he is trying to go under it, but doens’t realize that the floor is alot tougher than he is! I would like to get my security deposit back, and not have a bunny destroyed rug, but would also like to let him out of his cage. I can’t leave him out during the day when I am not home since I came back and found a nice pile of torn up carpet on the ground. I have sprayed the area with vinigar and that detured him for all of 5 mins. I move him everytime he does it, but he thinks that that is a game. I would rather not put an area rug down, because that would involve moving lots of heavy furniture. He is neutered, and AMAZINGLY behaved except for this one thing. I wish he would realize that this is only hurting him self and his chances to be out playing!!!

        Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

People (usually ones who don’t have rabbits) use a lot of descriptors–“cute”, “cuddly”, “fluffy”.  Due to lack of bun exposure, they never think of the best two–“curious” and “determined” (I’d say “stubborn as a mule” but that wouldn’t be polite).  If Marshmallow’s your avatar bun, how do you ever say, “no” to that face??!?

ETA: can you get a small piece of pre-cut plexiglass (I know Home Depot, for example, carries it) and put it over the “dig zone”?  He can’t chew it, you might not have to do major furniture moving, he can’t dig through it and, maybe, the slick surface will keep him away from that area.

Sounds like quite the little devil! Quantums idea is a really good one! You could also try putting a phonebook where he’s digging…It’s fun for them to dig and chew and I find if mine are damaging anything if I just put a phonebook there they choose it instead (of my furniture, wlalls, carpet LOL)
