Hi everyone!! I was recommended this treat for my bunny. I know its a dog treat but I thought I’d ask you all first before giving it!
The lady at the pet store recommended this treat, it’s a vegetarian treat, it has potato in it. It is similar to those “toothbrush” treats.

What do you all think? She said she used to give it to her bunny and they didn’t have a problem. What is your input? Thanks !

A treat made for dogs would never be suitable for a rabbit.

Do you know what the ingredients are, aside from potato?

This is almost the same ingredients as the one I bought or the same.

Potato Starch, Glycerin, Powdered Cellulose, Lecithin, Yeast, Color Added (Malt Extract, Annatto Extract, Alfalfa Extract)

Personally, I don’t think it’s a good idea. Rabbits have very sensitive stomachs, and potato is not good for them. Most treats designed for rabbits aren’t good for them, never mind the ones designed for dogs!

There’s plenty of very easy and healthy treats that bunnies love! A blueberry, strawberry, grape or slice of carrot makes a great occasional treat that your bunny will be very very happy with. Herbs are also a great option and something that you can feed every day. Dried flowers like rose petals or chamomile are also a safe and healthy treat that your bunny will enjoy

It doesn’t sound healthy at all for a dog, let alone a rabbit! I agree with Sirius – dried leaves and flowers are great options. You could grow them and dry them out yourself (just make sure they’re bunny safe!) Dandelion is usually a winner

You could try making your own bunny treats. I made some that had carrot, apple, and pellets in them for my bunnies and a friend’s rabbit when i was bunny-sitting. My friends bunny loved them and mine (I only had two at the time) refused to touch them lol.

You’ve gotten some good suggestions about fresh fruit or dried fruit or flowers as treats. If you are looking for a ready made treat, you could try Oxbow Simple Rewards Baked Treats. The first ingredient is timothy hay. They come in 5 different flavors. Only the ones that say Baked Treats start with timothy hay. As with any treat, you only want to give small quantities. These are easy to break in half.
