        Hey guys,
So yeah, I got the floppers garden organic alfalfa leaf and then I also got organic green oat tops. Is there an expiration date for these? I’ve just kept them in the little bags they came in, in a cool dry place. Also what is a serving size for a 4lb adult rabbit?
        Thanks guys!

I think that once they start wilting that’s the expiration. Do you mean serving size for vegetables? If so, it’s 1 packed cup of green leafy veggies per 2 pounds of an adult rabbit, so 2 packed cups.

Dry alfalfa and oat tops will keep a long time if stored in a dry, dark place (=away from sunshine). After a while they will start to lose some of their nutritional value, but since these are treats and not the mainstay of your bun’s diet, that’s ok. I dry some alfalfa and grass and dandelion etc in the summer and keep in ziplock bags and feed it in the winter, as hay-toppers and treats.
Dry veg/grass/greens go bad quickly when exposed to moisture. Never feed anything that has even a hint of moldy smell about it.

As for serving-size, don’t give too much. Esp alfalfa is rich, but the seed-heads of green oats are also rich. A small handful of each is enough. If you start to see uneaten cecals, cut back on the amount.
