I give my bunny treats once every few days and they are pretty healthy (like a little alfalfa or an apple, stuff like that) I have yogurt drop that I only give them when I clip their nails (once a week). is it okay if I only give it once a week? I don’t do it more than that.

          Hi there,

I’m not sure if yogurt drops are good for bunnies. I think there is something going on with lactose. However, I’m sure that the more experienced bunny owners can help you with that.

Yoghurt drops are not good for bunnies. A tiny amount of fruit or a sprig/leaf of a herb such as dill or mint make excellent treats.

alright, based on research, i’m not buying yogurt drops to them anymore (i don’t want to cause them to get sick/ gut issues. i’m throwing the ones i currently have away). instead, i’m getting them some special oxbox treats as an apology for them. (and i’m going to be switching them to oxbow pellets as well)

I give my own pair Oxbow Simple Rewards treats daily, as they’ve got a good fiber content and my buns love the apple/banana flavor (and, it seems, the bell pepper flavor too). They get Oxbow pellets for breakfast every day, a total of 1/4 cup (1/8 cup per bunny, they’re small ones); I use Essentials since it’s very high-fiber in content. I was investigating their Garden Select for a while, but it’s more expensive than Essentials and actually slightly less fiber. I’ve experimented with sprigs of herbs in the past, but while Panda likes them, Fernando has generally turned up his nose at them (he likes them in salads, though) so I don’t want him to get left out.

Another treat to be very careful about is oats (plain rolled oats). I was giving them to Panda and Fernando for a few months based on the recommendation of another local bunny owner, but I found out at their last biannual exam they were gaining too much weight so I stopped.

The oxbow ones are good but I suggest that you not get the “veggie rewards” one considering the last that I looked at the ingredients online I saw that they had onion powder in them I have no idea why the would add that
But for cake I usually give him once a week a slice of freeze dried strawberries that don’t have any add sugar.
