So yesterday I took Zoey and Rondo to the vet for their yearly exam and it turns out that Zoey has become a little overweight – Rondo is a healthy weight.  So I was reading older threads about getting a treat ball so she can work for her pellets.  My question is – should I get two of them (one for each bunny) or should they share one?  Also, where would I buy one of these for bunnies?  I found this one online for cats – would it be fine for the bunnies too? http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=20524

I think they used to have a bunny specific one, but I dont see that one on there anymore.

I like having two – mine actually came in a two pack, so it was easy. They might end up sharing one, but I find mine are pretty good about using their own (until one goes under the tv and that bunny then tries to steal the other one away) The cat ones are just fine, as well (mine are cat toys, actually).

It sounds like a great idea!

I have that one (the Slim-Cat model) and it works great. I only have one bun, but I think I would get a second one if I had two.

I also have a dog one, which is a little more difficult. I purchased it after Riley got pretty good at the Slim-Cat one, but I actually think that the Slim-Cat one is better overall (I think the dog one I have is a little too difficult, he tends to get frustrated after a while).

I have two buns using one ball. Even though one bun will fight/hog food, I have not had a problem with any hogging with the ball. One warning is that my chewer has chewed part of the Slim-Cat ball; I left it in their pen overnight.

Ok great, thanks! I will definitely have to order 2 of these. I actually found the rabbit ones on ebay – I guess they only sell those in the UK now? Hopefully it helps slow down her eating and she can get some exercise out of it. Thanks for the input!

I did recently find one similar to the one Drs Fosters & Smith used to carry. http://www.petazon.com/price/product/Small-Animal-Treat-Ball.html
You could probably find the Slim cat ones in store though if you want to avoid paying shipping.

Both of the buy it links on the petazon site say they are no longer available. My local pet stores don’t carry the cat ones. I think I’ll either stock up at dr fosters and get free shipping or just use my eBay balance to get the rabbit ones if those are actually more resistant to the rabbits chewing on them.

Oh sorry!  I didn’t check on that.

I have one of those willow balls that I’ll stick a craisen in, and Samson has a field day getting it out

I have one, but I’m planning to get another one after I move in a couple of weeks. When I first got it, Kate played with it all the time, but now that Spence has figured out with it does and that it dispenses yummy papaya bits, he shoves her out of the way and she doesn’t get to play with it anymore. Poor Katie. So I’m getting a second one. You could always get two, but start with putting one out, sometimes a little competition can make them more active, but if someone’s just getting shoved out of the way add the second one. And if they play nice, then you have a backup for when the other gets gross or disappears under something.
