I started to leash train my 4 month old bunny 3 days ago. She hated it. Now she growl and lunges at me every time I go to her cage. I didn’t do anything to hurt her. I just put her on a harness nd stretchy leash and let her run around me to get used to it. Well she was in her cage with her mother (who is bonded with her and fixed but the baby is not yet) and the small baby lunged at me. The mother full on attacked her (to protect me?) and I had to separate them. They are back to napping and grooming each other now. How do I prevent this and is there a better way to leash train the baby and keep her calm?

I don’t think leash training had anything to do with the change. My guess is it’s hormones and you need to permanently separate the mother and the baby until you have the baby fixed and begin the bonding process. They are not bonded. They just got along because the baby was young.

The baby may now be experiencing hormones, thus it’s now territorial.

How are her poops and pees?

Her poops and pees look the same as they’ve been except her pee is leaving white residue everywhere she goes. I thought it was a calcium issue and I can’t get her fixed yet because my vet told me she thinks she may have a heart murmur and wants to wait until she’s a little bigger. She will test for the murmur again then. If I had to make a new cage I’d have to completely remake a new one. Right now they are in an air condition she’d outside. I do have two but the other holds a male who is not fixed! I can’t bring them inside because other people in my household have allergies and by the time I make a new shed she may be going into surgery. Would a divider in their work until we figure out if she can have the surgery or will they both still be stressed from each other?
