I just noticed that one of talulahs front upper incisors is chipped in half horizontally

is this anything to be concerned about?

Yes. You need to take her to the vet right away. She may be in pain, or if chews with it, it could be even more seriously damaged and cause her pain. I’d make an appointment with your vet to get her in first thing tomorrow if possible.

If it’s a horizontal break, that’s probably the best scenario, since rabbit teeth continue to grow. I would have her into the vet tho so they can trim the other incisor down to the same length. If one tooth is longer than the other, that can throw off the occlusion elsewhere in the mouth, and then you end up with much bigger teeth issues when you start getting posterior molar spurs.

Dental problems are ALWAYS something to be concerned about. Think about how these affect you…it hurts or it’s not comfortable. Teeth problems as mentioned by Beka and RabbitPam are important concerns that need a qualified vet to take a look at. Please see a vet and keep us updated.

Just to add that if  it broke because she jumped and hit it on something then she could have a sore or injured gum. I’d also check for any bumps on the jaw.     It could have also broken if she had teeth problems already and there is some sort of misalignment that caused it to be more vulnerable to injury —either way… ditto ditto the others….make an appointment with a rabbit-savvy vet.

                Keep us updated.
