I stopped by the animal shelter on my way home from work (it’s literally 60 seconds from my building) to see the bunnies.  I really, really want a big bunny, though I know I need to not add any more animals to my house just now.  Anyway…I saw my very first pair of big boy bunny balls.  And they were FUGLY!  OMG I can’t believe people let their rabbits walk around looking like that!

I’m not at all in favor of cosmetic surgeries for animals, I’m against ear cropping and tail docking and declawing (though that’s more for furniture saving than aesthetics) but if there were no health reasons or temperament reasons or reproductive reasons to neuter?  I’D CHOP THOSE NASTY THINGS OFF ANYWAY!  ICK!

I readily admit that I’ve been really sheltered in the bunny ball department.  I always look at rescue animals and rabbits are always either super young or already fixed when I see them.  I am not looking forward to seeing those floppy things on my cute baby boys.  Ack.

Hmmm… I’ve never noticed anything on Thumper. Do you think size of…equipment…could be related to breed? Or maybe you’re right, Beka…maybe Thumper is a she. Or already fixed. Goodness knows nobody over there has taken either of them to a vet, and they were acquired from a PennySaver ad…2 bunnies with cages $25 sort of thing…

              Sigh.

*Faces the inevitable sooner than she wanted to and heads off to House Rabbits website to find a bunny vet in North San Diego County.*

oh my gosh. Laith had the biggest balls. They hung waaaaay down. He was only a little lionhead and they barely cleared the floor. When he lay down they stuck way out and he even pooped on them once. Ahaaaa while he was lying down. I cracked up. Oh my gosh he pooped and his balls caught it. It was just sitting there right on top. I should have taken a picture . Make a good story to tell

ok ok Yes he was neutered  soon after.
