We currently have our two buns in a 2 story cage my husband built for them, and we bring them out every day for playtime. Until they are bonded, Georgie lives on top and Nibbler lives on the bottom, and we keep the cage in our living room. We had a situation were Nibbler was peeing out of the corner of her litter box, and out of the cage, and onto our carpet. So while trying to come up with a solution to keep this from happening again, my husband suggested we move the rabbits into our office, where we currently keep our 2 dog crates, and move the crates out to the living room. The office has hardwood floors and would be easier to come up with a way to protect them than in the living room.
I’m really conflicted about this, I dont really want the dogs in the living room, and I dont want the rabbits to be isolated away from us. On the other hand, we could allow the rabbits to have the whole office once they’re and they could use their cage as a home base and free range to an extent in there. I’m not really sure what to do here. So I figured I’d ask for opinions, also if anyone has any ideas on how I could protect my carpets, I would love to hear them.
