My two go through a mad 5 minutes every morning about an hour before the alarm clock goes off..without fail!!  It must be the glimmer of dawn through the curtain or something but off they go…charging around under the bed, leaping into their cage, leaping out again, racing about, round and round and up on the cushion next to the bed, and back off again.  Then it goes silent!  ZzZzzzzzzz!!!!

They do say they’re most active at dawn and dusk. Glad they go “back to sleep” thou ! Mine is free range but usually o/night I put her in her room. Lately I’ve let her stay out. She’ll come in an potter about in the bedroom in the morning. Then after a while, if I haven’t gotten up, she’ll strategically start chewing things so that I have no choice but to get up.
Your two sound so funny. You must have the cutest, fuzziest alarm clock around!

Mine are in their cage at nite.  All nice n tucked in with some towels covering their house.  Making it cozy. Now if they were free roam all the time……. well….. every 2 hours they would be running across me digging in my hair etc.

I think you are very fortunate that yours go back to sleep after their 5 minute romp about.

i just posted in another thread about this. my house is so old that is doesn’t heat very well, and i have to leave my bedroom door open at night to get air moving around. the bunny room is connected to my bedroom, so you have to walk thru it to get to my room (weird set-up), so every morning i get woken up nice and early at 6am… not a happy camper when that happens… at night it’s not as big a deal b/c i watch tv in bed pretty late most nights…

I have an older house too, Beka, no hallway, you walk through rooms to get to other rooms. Except I wake the BUNS up trying to sneak through. This house has an old central air/heat system but you can run it all day and never warm the house so I put in a Hearthstone wood stove (absolutely love it and so do the animals.)

But the room that Pringles/Toby and Simba/Hershey are in is the furtherst away so it stays a bit cooler. I bought one of those oil filled radiators that I roll out and put in a NIC fenced area and it heats up nicely. On cold nights I put it closer to the older couple and they snuggle up in the corner closest to it.

that sounds like my house! the bunny room is connected to the main hallway, then you turn and there’s a door at the end of the bunny room that is my bedroom door! during the day i keep my bedroom door closed to keep the buns out, and when you open the door and walk in the room, it must seriously drop about 20 degrees in temperature. my room juts out from the house so there are outside walls on 3 sides… talk about chilly! i have a heating blanket that we climb under at night, so it’s okay once you’re in there… but freezing if you have to get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night… summer sucks too, it’s way too hot then!

yeah, I have to admit that when I decided to buy window units to cool the house, I got a small one especially for the bunny room. I’m totally bunny whipped.
