I’ve finally let Pip have some time to run around the living room, now that he is disease free and recovered from his surgery.  And he does something kind of funny.  He will be running around, having fun, then thump and then almost immediately binky.  It’s like he’s so super excited he needs to express it loudly.  He certainly doesn’t seem scared.  More like a daredevil, in fact.  I think I’m going to need to do another round of bunny proofing because he is getting to places Dobby is still scared to investigate.

He also thumped when I first got him, which made sense because I figured he was scared in his new house.  And he thumped the first few times he and Dobby met through the gate, which I thought was fear or anger.

Now it’s going to be hard to figure out what future thumps mean – happy, scared, mad.  If only he could talk and tell me.

Not a question, I guess.  Just an interesting observation I thought I’d share.

Stickers always thumps when she binkies. You can tell she’s binkying because you hear THUMP! lol It’s part of her take off.

Mine only thump when they are alarmed about something. It’s usually some mystery noise that I can’t hear.

That is interesting! Two of my bunnies seem to thump before they start a bunny 500! I was always looking to see what they could be mad at or scared of- but could never find anything. I have seen a few thumps that were unhappy- (during bonding), but those were followed by bunny being very still.

Up until about 2 days ago I’d never heard a thumb, but now I’ve noticed they do it right before a binky too. I’m not sure if it’s just one bunny or all 3, but I’ve definitely heard it several times in the last 24 hours. Straaaange.
