Duncan thumps his feet a lot! He does it every morning and every evening, that’s it. What’s weird is that he will usually thump 5-6 times and then do the bunny flop. He isn’t scared, apparently. None of my other pets are around when he does it, either. No loud noises, nothing unusual going on.
I’m confused, why’s he doing it?

Sometimes my buns will thump right before they do something they want me to see:

Thump. “Hey look at what I can do!” Thump. “Are you looking?” Thump. Flop or Binky.

Oh I wish mine would thump then flop. Ruffles was thumping late at night for a long time last night. Finally I went down to see what was up, of course nothing was wrong and he was thumping just for the heck of it. Silly bun..

He sounds like a shift worker. “*Thump-thump* Well that’s me done for the day….now I’ll get me some shut-eye before my evening rounds..*flop*…”

So if it’s not a warning thump maybe it’s a disgruntled thump? Wonder if he knows what time the food came at the breeders house?

Sage cat; ahh, that is definitely a possibility. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that! I realized a few days after I got him that he likes making people laugh, so if he does something(binky, flop, etc) and you laugh, he’ll do it over and over and over.

I don’t know when he was fed at the breeders, so that could be it too!!

I guess I’ll figure it out eventually, if it stops with time then it was probably the feeding schedule was “off” for him, and if he keeps it up he’s probably doing it for attention!

Well, Both my bunnies thump! August NEVER did until his hormones kicked in and now he does it all the time… Buster always has… I have observed them alot when they do this and it’s usually not danger thumps… They thump ALOT for attention… If I pay more attention to Buster, August Thumps like a mad man in very regular beats, almost like he’s counting… Buster does the same thing If we walk past his cage and ignore him (Not on Purpose)… They are just saying, “Hey, Look at me!” LOL! Crazy Bunnies!
