        Hi guys!

My mom hasn’t spent much time with my bun yet, but today when she came in Esther started thumping. Anybody know why this might be? My guess is that the two encounters she’s had with our dog (she has been completely separate since) occurred after my mom came into the room. Esther does not like my dog, and thumped after seeing her. My dog is a good girl, but can be vocal and Esther did not like her cries.

What should we do to stop her from thumping around my mom?

I also accidentally posted this in the wrong spot so just ignore that one!

She did it again this morning. My dog had just been barking a bit (it doesn’t usually bother her as long as they are in different rooms). She’d already had her breakfast so that’s not it. Nothing else was really different. The gravel pit across the street is going again but it has since Monday. Any ideas? Is she stressed then?

It’s probably just because your mom is a new human and she’s in a new place. Some buns also thump more than others, and often at things we can’t actually hear. Having your mom speak quietly to her when she’s around and hand feeding some treats will probably work wonders. She will also probably get more used to the sounds at your home and will thump less.

Buns also thump as a territorial display, so she could simply be claiming her new territory. 🙂
