Pudd’n is a year old, I don’t know what kind of bunny she is, but whenever she wants attention she thumps her back legs. Once I give her attention she is perfectly happy. She also will nip at me and when she has had enough she sighs and moves away from me. She also has started to make a snorting sound when I feed her. Is this something I should be worried about?

The nipping and thumping is normal. Rabbits communicate by nipping and they thump for several reasons – typically to ‘signal danger’ so they might thump if something startles them. They might also thump if they’re happy, excited, impatient, annoyed etc. My boy thumps sometimes if we’re taking too long to get his treats lol.

The snorting sound is a little concerning tho. Is it when she’s eating pellets by chance?

Yes, It’s whenever I feed her.

              Is she spayed?

Could the snorting be because she’s eating her pellets too fast?

I’ve heard my bunny snort a few occasions. I’m not sure if it means excitement or aggressiveness. She sometimes does it when I give her food. It might mean back off or oohh food glorious food. She also did it a couple times when I tried to pick her up by the window. She likes sitting on the window sill.

I don’t know, I am taking her to the vet hopefully in the next couple of months to get her spayed. It seems to be when she’s happy because she does it when she wants lovins too.

My bun personally only thumps to demand attention. Usually she thumps right before she jumps on my lap for pets. Or if she’s on my lap and I’m not petting her “good enough” (she likes massage like pets and gets irritated with me if I’m too lazy and just give her light strokes haha) she’ll jump off, thump, and jump back on my lap again until I pet her the way she wants haha. Same thing with the nips. It’s always because I’m not giving her enough attention. My bun is just a big time attention hog haha.

Recently I’ve found whenever I got into the living room in the morning (where Garf is free roaming) he runs around happily and always does a little thump. I think he’s just doing it as a “yaaaayyy you’re awake, food time food time”. He has always given me a little nibble if I’m in his way or not scratching him right so what you’re saying sounds quite normal to me!

I would keep and eye on the noises though, it could just be that she’s eating so fast hahah
