Last night I fed by bunny, Styx (one year old), a small carrot and a piece of banana 2 inches long. I just got her yesterday and the previous owner gave me a very in-depth diet guide and said that she was in her best health she could possibly be in. I woke up this morning and she had dark orange stuff on her chest and there were splotches on the ground around her cage. I understand that bunnies cannot throw up, but I don’t understand what happened here. Choking? Nervousness? Diarrhea that just got everywhere?

Rabbit pee can appear dark orange, especially it has been exposed to the air for a while. Could it be urine?

I don’t think so. Its on her chest too. and this was a lot darker than I have seen rabbit urine ever be.

Could it just be some carrot juice? My bunny is really messy when he eats greens and ends up getting green all around his mouth!

Rabbit pee can actually be a very deep dark red sometimes and still be perfectly normal.
But messy carrot-eating sounds likely since it was on her chest. How is Styx acting today? Is she eating? Is she active?

Was there a strong smell? Sometimes my rabbits have liquid drops that are left after the eat their cecals.
