Have you tried putting hay in the litterbox? Most rabbits like to munch and do their business at the same time, plus it reinforces him to want to use his box. Also, is it possible the spots are from before his box habits began improving?

It might be that he doens’t like the litter.  Tucker doesn’t like yesterday’s news..she prefers the feline pine.  So when the pine is in there she is much more meticulus about it, and when the yesterday’s news….not so much.  I had to use up the rest of the yesterday’s news somehow so I put a layer of that with the feline pine on top of it.  Maybe you could try something like that?  Since carefresh is so expensive maybe put a layer of the feline pine with a thin layer of carefresh on top?  That way he feels the carefresh but the bulk of it is the feline pine so it’ll lesson the financial load..AND help much better with odor protection..I never cared for carefresh as more then a bedding material..luckily Tucker agrees!!

Also I found that for a while I wasn’t able to put hay ANYWHERE that I didn’t want pottying going on.  Until Tucker was really used to where to potty I would just have a hay basket above the litter box.

We still have some poop issues but luckily bunny poop isn’t gross and I just pick up the stray poops and plop them in the litter box and the majority of the poops fall in there anyway
