YAY! lol  I finished the new hutch!! I really like how it turned out!  Excuse the mess in th pics I’m in the process of rearanging my room and its a bit messy!

I found this awesome non toxic papper tape at a local hardwear store and I lined the shelves and steps with it just in case Thistle wanted to taste the new house! lol I put a bunch of his toys and his big basket  in the the hutch so he felt more comfortable with the familiar objects.

His first time going into the hutch. I still have his other cage next to it because Im going to slowly switch him to the new house so he wont get stressed. Once he is completly moved in I will take the old cage out and make a huge run connecting to the hutch.

cute bunny butt! I thought I would show off his markings he really turned out to be splashed with tan, not patches except his face

I didnt catch the actuall binky but he did a major binky of aproval! lol Such a sweet lil smooshable face!

The only problem we are running into is, he hasn’t figured out to go back down once he climbs up…. what do you think I could do to help with that? I wont leave him in the new hutch till I know for sure he can go back down so he dosent get stuck without a litter box or food and water I have a extra water bottle and litter box that im putting in the top but I dont want him sitting in the top level only!  that would defeat the purpose of this new hutch! lol

        What do you guys think?

Are all the openings on one side? I think alternating them may have been better – maybe he thinks it’s like going down a hole or something. How tall is each lever? Is he able to stand up?

it took my bun a couple of days to get brave enough to figure out how to go back down her 3 level condo. I had to show her how by actually putting her on the step and giving her treats. I lured her down with some raisens and eventually she picked it up. She still is a little cautious of it though and will test it a few times.
very cool condo, btw! Was it a book case first or did you build it all? I love the doors on each level. That was good planning and foresight.
and his face is most certainly smooshable!!!!!

The openings are on opposite sides for each level I was worried about him falling if I put them all on one side. The pictures were huge so I had to shrink them a little so the size looks a smaller He is able to sit up in them just not on his very tippy toes. It will have a permanent run attached to the bottom level so if he feels he needs room to stretch his tippy toes he has half my room for it. lol

Good to know I will try that with Thistle! It was indeed a bookcase, The doors were a biiig argument with my dad and I, he though it was nonsense to have separate doors but I refused to alter that part of the hutch! lol And yes I have to say that smooshable face is indeed smooshable! lol

That is awesome PJ!  I wouldn’t even know how to begin on something like that.  And Thistle is too cute!

Raisins work wonders.. try putting a treat on each level.  Once he figures it out, he’ll be doing it over and over again!  Does he like his new home yet??

I think this set up is awesome, especially for people with tight spaces (like a bedroom)!  Could you post a discription of how you and your Dad made this?

Any update? Has he worked out how to come back down or does he wait for you to come rescue him each time?

btw, I thought it clever how the cut of corners of each level were used as the steps.
