My rabbit has been showing his third eyelid when I pet him for a week or two now. I’ve heard they only show their eyelids when they’re stressed out, but when I pet him he takes on his most relaxed pose (minus the alert ears) and stars purring. When I pet him, I make sure to give him many openings and chances to run away if he gets scared.

Is he stressed or is he enjoying himself, and if he’s stressed what can I do to help him out?

He sounds relaxed to me. Probably so relaxed that his third eyelids are getting a bit lax.
