I have been trying to introduce veggies to my buns diets…and lets just say its not going wellHA! I tried spinach for a while, they showed a little interest, but that was it no more at all after that. Then I tried parsley and romaine and I have been doing that for quite some time now and they still will not even nibble. I am trying to cut back/regulate their pellets and add more veggies, basically trying to get them on a healthier diet. What is the best way to go about this

It can be tough when they aren’t familiar – have you tried tickling their noses with the vegetables – sometimes they will snap at the vegetables and hopefully at least taste them that way.

How much pellets are you feeding them and how often?

Also you might try more fragrant vegetables or breaking the stems of the vegetables (like cilantro and parsley) to help release some fragrance. Also more fragrant things like herbs (mint, basil, dill) to entice them to try them.

I am going to sound like a mean bunny mom – But I would seriously cut back on pellets and just leave them with hay and veggies. Unless they are suicidal bunnies, they will eat whats there. You will get the bunny Butt and serious stinkeye – but they will eat and pretend they aren’t enjoying it.

I find Buns to be like Toddlers – Sometimes it is some tough love that moves things along.

I have tried holding it to feed it to them, and they run like they dont like the smell of it. I am putting in like a half a cup in during the day and veggies at night because they are out of their cage all day so they wont eat them as much, they have unlimited hay too. When I give them the parsley I cut them ends in half cause the stems were really long so I kinds tired that part, I tried some mint a little at first with the spinach. I feel like I just keep buying it for them to not eat it! grr stubborn buns!
