I saw something on here about the Teach ‘N Treat and HAD to buy one! I’ve been so excited the past few days to see the boys “in action”. Really, I just couldn’t wait to see how smart they are.

Well, I can honestly say that Fievel has earned the nickname of “The Simple Bunny”. Truly not an animal that would thrive in the wild. Hehe.

        Level 1. Failed.

I made sure to show him that his pellets were in there. They only get fed twice a day and in super tiny portions, so they both are always after pellets! Whenever they hear a bag crinkling, they run over to where I am. I scooted the big plastic cover around too so he could see what he needed to do and then replaced it so that it was covering all of the holes. He just stared at it for like, 20 seconds. Then he climbed on top of it. Then he pooped on it. He kinda looked down and then turned his head real fast and looked at me. He did this like 5 times! I scooted him off of it and moved the cover so he could smell the pellets. Finally, he dug in but- DOH!- his head is slightly too large… So ironic for a simple bunny.

I’m hoping Velvateen will have more success with it tonight.

So, to whoever posted the video of their rabbit (and I think their RAT!) successfully retrieving food from this thing, you have a rocket scientist bunny. Also, for everyone that said “yeah, level 1 was sooooo easy. My bunny just blew through that”. Well. I really have nothing to say to you.

*Development* He is now trying to squish himself into the box that the Teach ‘N Treat came in. It’s not even an inch and a half high.

LOL Awww….don’t feel bad. I don’t think Eddie was the brightest crayon in the box either. Maybe if Velvateen gets it and he watches, he’ll figure it out for himself. I think sometimes it takes them teaching each other things to figure some things out. But I’m fairly certain it would have been an epic fail for Eddie too. LOL

This is true! I’ll just forgo their original names and start calling them “Simple Bun” and “Master Bun”!

I still think level 1 is the hardest. Just move on to level two, it still may take a time or two for them to catch on, but I would def. start with level two!

I’m so glad this was mentioned on here. I saw it in the store a couple days ago and immediately bought it. My bun who only eats and sleeps will finally move around and do something with the Teach N Treat (and food dispensing ball). Just wish there were more levels!

It was such a good idea but their heads are too big!!! Fievel still hardly understands what he’s supposed to do.. He just digs at it a whole bunch until some pellets fall out. I actually feel bad putting their pellets in there. Hahaha

LOL Your story had me cracking up!

Otto got the levels right away, but that’s because he goes all Godzilla Bun and just digs at everything with his paws until he gets what he wants. There’s no finesse going on with him! I tried to teach him to smell for the treat and only pick up the cover with the treat under it – he’s ok at it, especially if it’s something smelly like papaya, but mostly he just attacks it until he gets to the food. The first time Hannah tried she picked up one of the blue cover things and ran away with it hanging out of her mouth. Lol. Took her a while to figure out that wasn’t the object of the game.
