I received the most touching card yesterday from my vet! It came from the clinic, but she wrote a personal message in it, and there was a little tuff of Bailey’s fur tied together with a dainty little satin bow. I just lost it! But even though it made me just blubber all over the place, I was so happy to have that adorable piece of Bailey’s soft fur.
I had just seen Dr. Harvey earlier in the day to recheck Rucy’s jaw abscess, (which has all but healed with antibiotics now) Anyway, and I sure wish I would have known she sent that card when I saw her earlier. What a sweet sweet heart!
Awww … ((hugs)) That is so incredibly sweet.
That is incredibly kind and sweet! I know how getting that card feels like : /
Oh, that is so sweet – I would have gotten all choked up too. She’s a special vet that’s for sure.
Now that is a vet I would love, you lucky duck BB. Such a sweet gesture.
That is a wonderful thing when they do that. I had to have my dog Oz released at an emergency clinic. They were so kind and understanding, they made me a cast of his paw. And the vet sent me a card with a hand written note. This was not even his regular vet. Needless to say I was a wreck but I could not believe a place as busy as they are would take the time. It was greatly appreciated.
That is quite touching and so unusual these days to add a personal touch. She certainly must be a wonderful vet. I know she has an excellent reputation. And you are the same, adding that personal touch to every order makes a world of difference in this crazy world! Thanks for sharing that.
awww… *wipes tears from eyes*… what a sweet sweet gesture.
I got a similiar card and tuft from her when my girlfriends bun Georgie Girl passed on. I found it to be a very great touch by her.
Yeah, I know that Dr. Harvey is a great vet as, after all these years, I saw her still tearing up when we turned over Georgie’s body to her. Most docs I know don’t get that personal with their patients. She also picked up the body off of the table as if it was still alive – putting the supporting hand under the back legs and all.
aw she sounds like an amazing vet, they arent like that here thats for sure!
Sending a tuft of fur with a ribbon is so amazing – no wonder you cried.
I was so very, very touched when my vet for Spockie send a personal condolence card from she and the rest of her staff (two others). It really meant alot to me. They were clearly very fond of him. Angie, her Med. Assistant, once showed us into the examining room, then popped back in because she’d forgotten to say Hi to Spockie. So sweet! It really is a comfort, and I won’t want to move so far away that I can’t go right back there as soon as I get a new bun!
u are lucky to have such good vets close by, there arent many vets around here and the ones who are here arent anything to boast about, when our dog died it was an over £1000 ($2000) bill and at the bottom of the bill it said 1% reduction in sympathy, i spose its better than nothing but it wasnt personal and would have been much nicer to have a card.
Can I please have your vet cloned? (begging eyes)
Actually, for the last two animals we’ve lost at the vet’s office, we always receive the poem about the Rainbow Bridge, which has much the same effect on me as a lock of fur from my pet would. Funny, I find tufts and whiskers like that around my house that should’ve long been swept up or lost to the vacuum after I lose a loved companion, and I also dream dreams of them, which all tells me they are still with me, and watching over me like the angels they are.
What a beautiful gesture, BB. You are most fortunate. ((((((sending hugs)))))))))) ![]()
MM,
I just moved out of my apartment, and when the guys lifted the couch I found, of course, little dried poopies. I got all weepy and couldn’t throw them out for the longest time.
I haven’t had any dreams yet, and really could use one.
*sniffle*
you really know how to make a girl get teary-eyed… that is so sweet.
and Pam… were the moving guys wondering why you were clutching poops? that’s sweet too… but only a rabbit slave would understand why…
Aww that’s so touching!! What a wonderful vet ![]()
Sounds like you just haven’t found the right vet!!
When I first started going to my old vet she was very friendly. Charlie died two months later and my vet even rang me that evening to check how I was…then called again two days later. She always made a lot of time for me and took an interest in my personal life i.e I wasn’t just a paying customer! Even offered me a room at her house when I was having problems with my sister!
She sent me xmas cards etc and we became good friends. I don’t use her at the moment as a vet because she left the practice over a year ago but we are still good friends and speak regularly.
I think it is very nice when vets make such personal touches…..it makes you feel you are more than just another wage source for them and that they actually care.
That is a very sweet and personal touch. I hope that with time it gets easier for you.
aww, that was so kind of her *hugs* i would have been balling too
Thanks, yeah, I feel amazingly lucky in that regards.
