I’ve been very ill with a severe migraine for 2 days now.. I mean, actually “down” with the migraine. I suffer chronic migraines and take various prescription preventatives to try and control the severity of the most frequent ones. Fortunately, I am mostly functional with them.. but not the crippling ones.. like this last one. I can’t stay in one position for very long, I’m nauseous and vomiting, the Imitrex didn’t help.. hasn’t helped, my equilibrium is way off… I’m just “down” with this one.

So this morning, I dragged myself out of bed and made it to the desk chair before getting to the kitchen for my water and a salad for the “kids”. I started feeling woozy and tried to ease myself off the chair to the floor before I blacked out, but I was too late. I woke up to Bella Bunneh’s concerned grunt and thumping, next to my head. I was flat out on my stomach, face down.. fortunately, not hurt… with my glasses tossed a couple feet from me. I think I was probably in and out of consciousness for a few minutes, but I know Bella was there because she kept pressing her nose under my nose and wiggling… checking to see if I was breathing, I assume. She’d gently nudge me until I’d blink my eyes at her, then she’d go back to the nose to nose contact.

Finally, I was feeling a little more alert ..still not on my feet… and I made a little chuckle sound with the endearing gestures that Bella was showing me. This inspired her to get my glasses for me, I guess. She’d pick them up and toss them towards me a little bit at a time. She finally tossed them right at my face and gave me a little nudge. “Put on your glasses, Mah.. get up, Mah.. come on… “

Needless to say, this earned Bella some yummy nomnoms and lots of loves ..like she doesn’t get lots and lots already.. from us. She is by far a very special bunneh and I feel so blessed that she is in my life. I felt blessed before the incident today… this just multiplied it!

Oh my how scary for you. There are a few people I know that suffer from severe migraines, and it’s not easy! But wow, you blacked out? How frightening.

I hope you feel better soon. I’m sorry to hear about your migraines. Those are rough! I know at my old work, one of the managers suffered from those and so he would have to turn out the lights in his office for about an hour and he put a “talk quietly” sign on his door. That way he still tried to do his job, and answer questions, but people would just have to come in and speak quietly around him during that time. On a rare occasion he would just close his door completely and take a time out.

How sweet of Bella to try and take care of you. She does sound like an extra special bunny!

How sweet of her to keep an eye on you and encourage you to get up.. and especially cute for her to bring you your glasses… I hope your migraines fade, they can be quite debilitating.. but you know htat already! Hugs from me and M&M!

oh, I’m so sorry about your migraines, my daughter suffers from them too, but not to the point of blacking out, that’s scary. So glad you didn’t hurt yourself in the fall. Wow, you have a therapy bunnie! That’s amazing that she took care of you in her own way, even your glasses. I bet she gets a special salad today.

Wow, that’s a great story! Your migraines certainly aren’t great and sound awful! But it’s wonderful that your little bunny girl is so smart and concerned about you.

You should’ve named her Lassie 😉

How scary for you, but how wonderful that Bella stayed by you and tried to help.  She’s a special lady.

I always hoped for a pet that could “sense” my moods, but Pepper’s response to me crying is to run away and thump at the unfamiliar noise and the last time I was down with the flu was when she discovered that new tissues pop up out of the box when you pull on them.
