Sunday night was the most pleasant time I have had with Mimzy in our whole short history together. After being out in the xpen for most of the day, (that ended with Pippi nipping him and me having to rescue him, poor thing-and no he wasn’t hurt), I had put them both away in their nice, clean pens. That evening, I was looking at Mim sitting in his corner, seemingly a bit put off, and I got the urge to snuggle with him. So I pulled him out of his pen and put him on my chest and sat on my bed with him. Usually he’ll get fidgety and want to go off exploring, or he’ll dig at my stomach and nip my shirt, but this time he just sat while I ran long head pets down his little body. He would get up once in awhile and poke around, but he’d always come back and cuddle back up with me and he got to the point where he was starting to fall asleep! (never did that before!) His little face was tucked into the crook of my arm and his eyes were closing slowly. If there was any noise, they’d open back up, but for the most part he was SO relaxed! I was amazed!
Then at the end of this cuddle, he got up on my stomach on his hind legs and began washing his face! I was floored! He had to be EXTREMELY calm to be able to do this. I was so happy, it made me feel so close to him! ^_^ Normally, he seems so spooky and easily startled, so I don’t handle him much. Since that night, he has been more responsive to me, and will lift his little head and put his ears forward at my voice or his name. (Not that he didn’t know it, he just seems more attentive.)
He also was climbing all over me when I was in the xpen with him that day. So cute!
And I did my first successful nail trim on them both that day. Didn’t get them as short as I’d like, but I managed it, which was quite the feat. The only nails I couldn’t get were Mimzy’s forefoot ‘thumbs’. They are SO tiny, I can’t hardly feel them, much less see them! >.>Just had to share. It was such a great evening and I was just bursting with it!
