I thought I would share Tenzin’s first day home.

And I do think its a tongue, TOTAL fluke. I was sitting outside his cage with my camera zoomed all the way in just hoping for decent pictures.

That’s just nuts with the tongue!! Save it. Occasionally people will want a collection of weird pics and one time the subject was tongues. I don’t think there were a ton of responses to that one!

I save all my pictures unless they are very poor quality. Photography is kinda a hobby of mine. I am still working on it though.

Tenzin is amazing. He isn’t ready to be petted yet so I am letting him take that lead, he will be ready in time its ok.

I sat outside his cage and fed him his veggies by hand tonight. When I went back in to refresh his pellets he ran over to the cage bars thinking I had more veggies LOL. I let him sniff my hand but he wasn’t thrilled I didn’t bring him anything so he just hopped over to his litter box and sat staring at me.

YES !!! I want to interact with my bunny !! I want to pet him , My friend said he cuddles and gives kisses, but he just isnt there yet.

he is a resilient and curious boy. I accidentally scared him but it wasn’t long before he was laying down all sprawled out in a comfy position. He isn’t hot the house is cool he is just comfy.

I accidentally scared him away trying to pet him with one hand while feeding veggies with the other … Luckily veggies win lol.

Tenzin got a bigger cage. 4×4 … But now it looks so empty I am gonna have to make some toys for him.

He is finally letting me pet him a little while I feed him veggies. Hopefully he will come around to where I don’t have to bribe him lol.

Because Tenzin has proven not to be a chewer I took out the blue house and am now using his carrier as his house.

This may seem silly but this way I shouldn’t have to catch him when its time for his neuter. If he gets scared its his natural go to now.

Random Question- I clean his litter box daily but are his feet looking a little too yellow? I could clean twice a day but that seems excessive.

I just saw Tenzin do hisfirst binkys … not sure they were happy binkys though. I tried to pet him while he was eating his veggies he took off and did a binjy, he decided to do two more while I was in there.

I also started partially freezing his water bottles and put a fan facing his cage ( only part of it) to cool him. We dont have central air

Silly tenzin … He likes to air out his bits. He lays with his butt facing the fan, holds up his tail and positions his back feet so his butt is slightly elevated. He seems happy.

He binky’d last night.

I think rabbits just tend to have yellow feet whether from stepping in hay or just the coloring. I suspect it’s just more noticeable on white feet. If you started a great about that you’d get some good responses if no one pipes up here

I put my head in Tenzins cage and let him sniff my face, I was down at his level. He put his paws on my head checking me out then binkied all over the place.

Also … he doesn’t slip on this flooring.

This is how Tenzin usually greets me … As long as the cage is closed. Its 100% … HEY got anything for me? 

Not sure what he is doing … But its ADORABLE !!!

Tenzin … this is why we can’t have nice things !!! ( I cut a hole on each side so he can play in it and he hops on it … Usually he wont hop on anything) 

I thought I would also share how our bonding sessions are going. 

How cute is this? Caught him mid stride. 

They are getting to be buddies 

I know this doesn’t seem like much but for Tenzin this is HUGE … He usually won’t tolerate more than his face and ears being touched ( and no I don’t have big hands he is a teeny bun) 

I put his bowl right in front of me so he has to approach me if he wants his veggies. He doesn’t seem to mind my ugly self lol. 

He is just such a cutie. 

Not sure if Comfy or hot … With no central air its always a toss up …

Oh how adorable!! And my guess is that if he were hot, he’d be panting/rapid breathing

There is some rapid breathing. So I am gonna have to find a better way to cool the hall. Maybe bring his fan out and aim it down the hall. Thank you.

Its usually not as hot as it was last night though. A storm sent the humidity through the roof without actually cooling it down. So outside was like 95 with 80% humidity. Window Units can only do so much.

Tenzin certainly has a way of letting you know when she wants something. I forgot to fill his bottle and it ran out, He started shaking it and moving it so it made a really loud sound, And heaven forbid he wants veggies or pellets NOW. He puts his bowl on the tile and clangs it really loud. Its really cute but at 7 am … I am just like dude … You are fine. Go back to sleep.

Yup. Our upstairs central air can’t keep up in this heat though it keeps it cool enough for Gus, I think. You can try those really cheap tiles from hardware stores. Some buns will lay on those or up against a frozen water bottle, though I suspect you know all this 🙂

I need to buy the 32 ounce bottles so I can half freeze and then fill them so they have a giant ice cube … that way they are being cooled internally as well. The boys do have tile and a small fan in their room. I wish we had a deep freezer it would be full of frozen 2 liter bottles.

I have been working on Bonding with my gorgeous boy. He is doing great and now hops out of his cage whenever I open it, Of course when thats breakfast time ( He gets his pellets in the morning) he hops right back in LOL. At night I get him out , give him his veggies, then let him explore. Closing off the bathroom and my bedroom. He has access to the back room if my boyfriend is in there and the pet room. He has proven to be a wonderful bun, He doesn’t poop or pee when out and he does not chew or jump. Today he got in the most ” trouble” yet … He found the box of hay and was munching on that. How horrid LOL. 

He decided he was done playing and went to lay in his cage.

What a doll! Buns do seem to enjoy munching on hay in different locations. I keep a bucket of hay near Gus’ cage for easy refills and Gus likes to tip it over and munch. Anything to encourage hay is fine even if it’s a mess.

Its actually where I keep the hay to have easy access … maybe a little too easy lol. Not complaining about him eating hay though. For a while he was not a fan of eating hay at all.

The room is actually a mess from completely reorganizing, Hay got all over, but Tenzin seems to love that.

I cleaned and rearranged his cage. He was thrilled to have new hay lol. I was fully expecting a bunny temper tantrum but I needed to rearrange it to make cleaning easier.

Not really picture related, but Tenzin had his surgery today. He did great , I had to work but I can’t wait to get home and check on him
