        RESOLUTIONS.

        Have you made them?

Do you avoid them? (I usually do.)

Do you laugh in the face of them and have that last piece of Pecan Pie????

Tell us. We’ll hold it against you for a whole year.

        I’ll start:

        1. I resolve to build a better habitat for my bunny, Samantha Bunnykins. I will either get an x-pen, expand the NIC cubes, or generally rearrange the platform and configuration to meet her needs and preferences.

        2. I resolve to lose weight (cliche, and not one I usually make), like 30 lbs worth, so I can feel good about myself again.

        3. I resolve to be more positive and feel more secure in my great new job. I WILL still have it this time next year, I will count it as a blessing I get to keep, and I will take criticism as room for improvement and not a sign that I am being dumped for someone cheaper.

        4. I will count my blessings more often (particularly when the negative tapes start in).

            Oh BT!!!!

Those are good resolutions rabbitpam, and I think its most important to make them attainable, and yours seem to be!

            Mine are:

            1. Be on time for all my 7 AM shfits! (I’m going on 6 in a row now! )
            2. Was originally going to be lose 20 more pounds (I’ve lost 70), but decided instead to go with– Go to the gym 3 days a week.
            3. Keep the apartment clean on a regular basis so it doesn’t become such a disaster zone!

              My resolutions:

              1. Start running regularly again

              2. Eat more vegetables. I don’t really take the time to make meals for myself, and I’ve been so busy that I’ve over-looked them.

              3. Be less stressed…I’m an illustrator and a perfectionist, which means I end up spending so much time painting that I lose sight of the important things…time with my boyfriend and bunnies, and finding new adventures. I’m going to work on simplifying some projects to make room for fun. I found myself sometimes working 12 hours straight last year, not even stopping to eat or take a break, and that is really not ok.

I guess my “resolution” each year is the same. To make continual resolutions throughout the year as required!

The New Year ones never really work for me. They get forgotten, or are too ambitious or potential sources of disappointment by the time the next NYE rolls around!

not really a resolution but something i’m glad i’m doing… i used to donate blood every two months before i moved a few years back. i moved farther away from where i used to go, so my participation became less regular and then i stopped altogether. it’s been about a year and a half since i last donated. i went to the red cross website today and scheduled an appt for later this month to go somewhere closer to home and donate. i also registered for a CPR class. i need to be certified anyways for my college program, but it’s a good thing to do even if it’s not necessary for work…

Well i made a couple. Firstly to always be on time for school! Last semester i was a office aid because all the first period classes were full. Well i was late a ton but i didnt write myself up lol, avoided tons of detentions that way hehe. Well this semester i dont have office aid so thats not going to work lol.

Secondly (kinda guffy) i will not wait till i have only one day worth of clothes to do my laundry lol. I absolutely HATE laundry so i ignore the pile of dirty clothes lol.

Third was my moms idea. To not put so much stress on myself about school. I stay up all night an average once or twice a week, to prepare for test, perfect essays or figuring out that one math problem that i cant get etc. My problem is I dont accept less then A’s, even if i do all i can for studying and reading the chapters and going to my teachers etc. But another problem of mine is i cry easy… so a stressful all-nighter of course doesnt go well, thus to much stress. But ill try to accept my best, instead of being upset that my best isnt always as good as a few other’s best.

                        My resolutions are

                        1) Take a minimum of a 15minute walk at least 2-3times a week.
                        2) After I buy a guinea pig friend for Ringo, I will not buy another pet until 2010 =)

Alright I have a couple but really the first was is more of a wish:

                          1. I want to NOT be on crutches next Christmas/new years… 2 years in a row is enough for me! Also I’d like to be healthy because I was sick last year and this year

                          2. The cliche of course of weight loss but I’m going with get to the gym more and feel good about myself

                          3. I’m a writer (well an english student with hopes of being a published writer who currently writes lol) so I’d like to get at least half of my book that I’ve been working on done. I’d love to finish but I figure with school/work/life half is more reasonable right now

                            1. Renovate my rabbit room: Paint, put up new shelves, start building NIC condos

                            2. Lose weight and be more active

                            3. Spend more time riding and training my horse

                            4. Eat healthier. Cut something bad out of my diet every couple of months until I’m totally vegan.

                            5. De-Stress (I got yoga stuff and a relaxation fountain for Christmas). Try to not sweat the little stuff.

Good luck to us all! I think we’ll need it

Ugh I wouldn’t say they are NY resolutions but stuff I’m really working on

                              1) being on time, perpetually late; people ask ‘one hour or one hour lesley time?” *sigh*
                              2) Be more organized with my time so I don’t waste time or forget to do things
                              3) try to go to bed at a more decent time (before midnight on work nights hopefully)
                              4) eat less prepared food and try to make my own meals/eat healthier
                              5) go back to the gym where I’m paying for a membership (If I go to bed early then I can make it!)

my best friend’s resolution this year made me laugh… “Be More Like Beka.”

she is trying to be more organized, punctual, more responsible…

O.K. you all may really hate me for this, but I made my resolution eary. I made it in November and I joined a gym (24 Hr. Fitness) and vowed to be 10 pounds less by New Years, happier, more energitic and a gym rat. Well I ended up losing 25 1/2 pounds and went from a size 18 to 14 by New Years. My outlook in life is much brighter and I love my gym and my trainer who has helped me get there and I love going to work out and seeing my muscles grow. In total, I have now lost 30 pounds and am a size 12. Something I NEVER even dreamed of. I have a whole new outlook on what and how to eat and am so much more conscientious of what goes in my mouth because I think about how nutritous it is, the number of calories, the amount of protein & fat etc. and I make smarter choices. I used to be really lazy about all of these things and am amazed at myself and have shocked my co-workers and friends. This is a lifetime change for me at age 35. Now I think that my next resolution is to have 6-pack abs.  We’ll see about it…

Maybe mine should be “be more like beka too” if your organised, punctual and responsible…I’m still trying for that lol.

Wow, Scarlet_Rose, that’s fantastic for you! No one shoud hate you :p maybe be crazy jealous and bowing in respect for what you’ve achieved!

LPT – GO VEGANS! Woot! If you need any hints, tips on how to break the milk chocolate cravings or brie cravings let me know  And I think it’s great your doing it in steps, because otherwise its so hard that you end up not being vegan anyway.

I think I’ll join the chorus and say one of my resolutions is to be early. It’s just so darned hard to getout of bed sometimes lol!

                                    Mine are something like this:
                                    1. Apply myself to my studies and work towards a higher grade than credits (I’m so slack!)
                                    2. Go for a walk everyday that I’m not doing karate
                                    3. Learn karate
                                    4. Make more friends and be more open to friendship
                                    5. Donate consistently to MSF

oh yeah and save $15000 (not that that’s going to happen lol)

I love new years resolutions…and I take the view that they’re probably not going to happen but it’s important to always be striving for something. Learning karate has been on my list for years and years!

I read this on a blog I like, I think I am going to barrow it:
no resolutions. Only desires to make a conscious effort to re-establish things I lost along the way. No lists. No promises. Just eager desire. Paving a way for the year to open up choices, and for those choices to be taken.
