        Hi all,

I have been browsing through the forums for a few days now, (the information here is priceless! thanks guys!), and I have noticed in your pictures and videos that you have these cages for your rabbits that are inside… with tiles or lino or something on the floor, and its like an indoor enclosure for your rabbit….

        WHAT ARE THEY?!

I am in Australia, and I have never seen one of these before! I want one! All we have here are the wooden hutches… My house rabbit sleeps in his at night but I dont like the wooden hutches cause he chews it to pieces, its quite small, and your rabbit enclosures are far more practical!

What are they called and where can you get them from???

a 88cm in length * 60cm in width pen, that’s the maximum i can provide for Fluffyin my bedroom.  as compensation, he is allowed sevral hour free time daily, basically, 30min at morning, 30min at noon and from 6 p.m till i go to bed at night. at that time, he jumps up and down, runs back and forth, rubbing everything with his chin, indicating “that’s mine!” and flopping in the midle of the ground.

Hey Kafrn! Mostly on here they’re called NIC cubed (Neat Idea Cubes) but the company that makes NIC doesn’t now I think. Anyway, they go by other names also. Rubbermaid storage cubes….will try find other names and post back here. Basically, they are wire panels that you can configure to make into storage shelves or bunny/piggiy cages! I have found them in Bunnings before but you don’t get many for what you pay . Also, I have found online that Aldi’s may stock them. There’s also an ebay store that specifically markets them as animal pens. Pen enclosure (x-pens) are super useful and easy to get in and clean so that’s another non-hutch option.

Edit to add: Some of those other names….Creative Cubes, Neat Idea Cubes (by Fellowes), New Age Cubes, Storage Cube Sets (by Rubbermaid), Start-a-Cube, Add-a-Cube, and Great Idea Cubes.

just make sure the puppy pen that you get is high enough otherwise your rabbit will just jump out!

Ok, I have an update! Went to Bunnings on the weekend to find the NICs, and found them! But they were $15 for 5 squares… So I thought we would keep looking to compare prices…
Went to a great store yesterday afternoon, and found the most awesome cage — Made by pet one… fell in love with it and wanted to save up for it… Found out later in the day that Carl had bought it for me for my brithday present – a week early So now Stu has an AWESOME cage with heaps of room, and a new bunny friend called Flopsy, who we fell in love with also, and has a happy new home.

I know right? Those Bunnings ones are a rip off. Sounds like you’re all sorted. Congrats on the newbie also! You’ll have to post some pictures of them both.

Edit: I see you have posted pix already!  *runs back to LOUNGE to gaze at the cuties*

This is a pic of Flopsy and Stu when they first met yesterday … Flopsy is the new one, the white one… Stu is just taken by her lol.

I will upload a pic of the new cage this afternoon when I get a work break   Thanks for your help finding the cubes though! Im still going to use some cubes to make an extra big run a little later on…
