We moved our desk into the bunny room a few weeks ago.  This opened up space in our living room a bit and the buns don’t seem to mind too much, me having invaded their space.

It’s not uncommon for me to sit at the desk and find the occasional poop underneath it.  Max has big ol’ feet and he can flick them pretty far.  This morning I was sitting at the desk and I saw a poop.  I reached down to pick it up and toss it in the general direction of the litterbox, but I stopped short, just a few inches away from it.

It was a potato bug, the ones that roll up into a little ball!  Eeeew!

I’m not afraid of them, but YUCK.  I certainly didn’t want to just pick it up with my hand…

Is there room in there for one more…?

Bugs outside? Fine. Bugs in the house? Totally disgusting!

That is such a cute pic with the grass bed! It took me a minute to see the second bun. I bought that bed for Bindi a few months ago, all excited he would love it, and he totally hated it! Wouldn’t go in it or chew it. I ended up taking it out of his cage because it was just taking up room and making him angry! Give him an old, torn up cardboard box though and he’s in heaven!

ok to pick up a bunny poop but not a bug             how funny.     non bunny people would probably freak if they saw us picking up a bunny poop.  rofl

no I wouldn’t want to pick up bugs either.   eeew…       when I see the occassional roach I have learned by the time I get a paper towel to squish it it has done gone….   so I have taken to squishing them with my hand  that way they have no chance to escape.    I knwo eeeeeeewwww

when I was little my Dad used to do that and i would flip out  oh my gosh dad how can you squish that thing with your hand eewwww now here I am doing it.                 eeeeeewwww            but a potato bug definitely eeeeew

LPT… mine did not take to the grass bungalow until their willow tent was pretty much out of the running.  I leave it in there b/c they still love to chew it, and Max sits underneath it from time to time, but for the most part, it’s a pile of sticks…

lol, that’s hilarious (but sad too) that he’s underneath the rubble! Looks like a tornado hit his house!

I know what you mean, though. We don’t have those up here, but we do have disgusting little carpet beetles that just…ugh…they creep me out bigtime. I don’t think they are particularly ugly or anything, but you can just imagine the germs they must be carrying….*shudder*

Beka, those are the best pictures!

I have teensy weensy ants on my kitchen counters. The exterminator happened by and they were finally gone for a week or so.

                              Now, they’re baaaaaaaaaack….

Oh dear. That’s not good, Pam. My dad spent years trying to rid his house in Hawaii of ants. He finally gave up and sold the house.

I have few insect aversions, but I tell you, ants are THE WORST. I remember having a trail about ten feet long and three inches wide going through my house once when I was a kid. NOTHING kept them out. They must have had a nest under the house or something. I tried everything, and I never used pesticides because I always had a cat as a kid and didn’t want any of them getting sick from the chemicals. So I used lemon peel, peppermint extract, pepper, you name it, I tried it.

Even the exterminator couldn’t get rid of them? Yeesh. 0_o I hate ants. Creep, crawly, nasty biting buggers! >.< I mistakenly trod on a hill when we first moved up here one day…you have never seen someone move so fast; swatting and brushing them off and then running for the house…even my dog got hit with them and was nipping at her own legs to get them off. Yiiii!

These are not full sized ants, not even the small regular ones. My mother calls them No-See-Ems, cause you can barely see them. They are about the size of the head of a needle. But they only die from one product sold at Home Goods, and these seem to be resistant to that, too. I think they may come in from the grocery store, or the newspaper, or the mail, then join the nest already in the old cabinets. I’m in a new first floor apt. so they are worse.

Just strange that the exterm. didn’t last.

That pix of meadow squished in with Max is priceless. Hey! this is my first reply on new laptop!!!
I’ve already bought a game online for the vista program. I can’t be without a good Mahjong game. Now if I just remember to leave for work at noon…

Ooo Mahjong! ^_^ I can remember playing that on my first computer. I think my favorite Windows Time Wasters though had to be Chip’s Challenge (maze style game) and Jezz Ball (kind of like Breakout, we used to call it JEEZ! Ball because it was so frustrating.)

(okay, MM…try NOT to hijack this thread please!)

And don’t ants only come in two types? Sugar or grease? As in that’s what they gravitate to eat? (supposedly if you remove either of thes foods from your home and make sure you clean spills quickly, they will leave)

As far as sizes go, though…there seems to be no end. >.< Where I am only HUGE ants now…no more of the tiny, easily squish-able type. You need a bunny boot to kill Alaskan ants.

Ugh….ants. I HATE ants! My yard is covered in ants in the summer. I can’t even sit on my deck because they are so bad. I had to insulate all my back windows because the gross little buggers were getting in and I found them all over the counter and in the sink. I wish there was something I could use to spray my yard and deck but I’m also very environmental conscious and hate using any kind of chemicals.

OMG hahaha that willow tent is finished That’s too cute. I have to say the one where they are both squished in that hay thing is unfairly and unlawfully cute!!!

I met someone who grew up in the philipines, he said ants didn’t bother him because they were everywhere. Put a cup down and it would be covered in minutes. He had ants in his bed. Hogeez gross!!!

I’m taking a more appreciative look at my own bunnies’ willow tent, it has a few tie-ons hanging off one end and the main poles are exposed there, but it’s still standing at least! ^_^

Ugh…bugs you can see in your bed…yuck! >.< It's a different world over there. But I think the thing that gets me is when you see those microscopic pictures of the little creatures that live on your pillows or in your eyelashes that eat old, dead skin cells. Yiiiish!

I have come to the conclusion that the state of Florida is a giant ant bed.   Gosh when I don’t have those retarded little ants is less than when they move in again.

GRRRR.   My Mom says tell housing.  yeah lucky you  living in Louisiana.   NO ants inside.   OH but when it rains in louisiana the fire ants come out with vengeance

Yep. FL is loaded with ants. I asked my work exterminator, Otis, about it. He said that first, Tarro which was the product that ALWAYS worked on them just changed their formula and now they’ve left out the ingredient that did the job. Argh! Then he said they need to follow them from where they start outside my building and squirt them there. I need to call maintenance. Like they’ll go to that trouble…

No, there are two kinds of tiny ants as well. Otis is really nice and filled me in on them. Guess I have roommates – I took a ground floor apt. knowing this was a trade off. It’s so cold here this week that they’re coming in.
