OMG !! lol.  I just read it. (in the thread about that huge outdoor hutch!). and now I keep getting flashbacks of one time I took Lilly outside (and haven’t taken her out since…) in May I took her outside and around there everybody has dogs… and some guy was walking his dog.. and the dog saw Lilly.  It must have been some kind of hunting dog because it ran straight for her.. withthe guy still holding the leash.. he could barely restrain her.. he was up to Lilly, literally 4 inches from her face.. I was so scared, so was bf.. I didn’t want to reach down and pick up Lilly because the dog was so wound up that I knew if I reached down and disturbed the situation that he would instantly lunge at her and the man would have no control.. finally the man was able to wrestle his dog away from her.. literally wrestle.. it was a huge dog, and VERY determined.  Since them I have never taken her outside again.. but now since reading that article about them getting heart attacks from things like this, I keep getting pictures in my head of her either dying of a heart attack, or the dog lunging at her .. but like I said.. Lilly hasn’t been out there since.. she was allowed in my back yard a month ago, but only for about 5 minutes before I got nervous because of heat and brought her back in..

I guess I had no reason to post this… but be aware of people even if their dogs ARE on leashes… I know I will bring Lilly out again.. but I will NOT let anything get near her.. we will go in a more secluded area when nobody is out with their dogs..

Oh wow, thats so frightening! I’m glad that Lilly turned out OK from that ordeal. My bunnies don’t go outside right now mainly because I live in LA and the poor things would just be hoppin around on concrete (ew), but after all the things I have heard about outdoor bunnies – I don’t think mine will be going outside! Maybe someday when I have my own house and know what is on my grass, but between bugs, dogs, and pesticides, its not a nice bunny world (at least in LA!)
