My bun was born on April 27th, so is only just 4 months old. He’s not really displaying any of the terrible teens symptoms yet, but I know I have that to look forward to (neutering planned for end of Sept, ha ha!).

Anyway, I’m going away for a few days mid September, and a friend is looking after him for me. She’s really looking forward to it, but I’ve got a horrible feeling the change of scenery and people is going to bring on the nasty! I’m dreading coming back to tales of biting and spraying and total disregard for his litterbox! Should I worry, or do you think he’ll be ok? I’m planning to give her the bunny sitting page from this site, along with a bit of a warning about potential tantrums!

If she’s coming over to your home to look after him, he should be fine.
If he’s visiting her, just ask her to bunny proof her space and limit where he can go.

He will not be a terror. Keep his routine as normal as possible in your instructions.

IF anything comes up she can call you about it.   Even if he does great she can call and you would feel a lot better.  If he acts up you can then tell her how to handle it

I bet they do just fine together.  Especially as she is looking forward to sitting him.

Are scary thoughts dancing thru your mind of Nightmare bunny   lol.     Really it shouldn’t be bad.

IF he is at her house he may feel overwhelmed in a new place and be very nice.

If possible Id try and get her to come to your place and watch him. It will be less stressful for him. If not it might be a good idea to drop him off there a day early so that you can spend time with him there before (and look at how well its been bunnyproofed).

I had to leave my bunny for 2 LONG weeks about a month after I got him. I warned my roommate that I was bunny-obsessed and that he was my baby…. and to expect calls from me. She was super excited to be spending time watching him and didnt mind emailing me daily updates on how he was doing. She even called once when he was misbehaving and flipping his litterbox for ideas on what to do.

Try and set up a time to check in on him. It will make you both feel better!! I am sure that he will be fine!

Yeah, definately getting the nightmare bunny thoughts! Lol, I would leave him at ours, but I think cos she’s looking forward to it so much, she’ll be spending lots of time with him, which he won’t get if left at ours as she lives a 10 min drive away, and I don’t want him to be lonely

I’ll definately go round with him the day before, with hot bunny proofing tips! Especially as he is really not used to being in his cage, so it would be ideal if there were space for running about.

At least it’s only for a few days *sigh* and I’m within easy phone reach.

(I’ll also give her this website address! You guys are sooo much help!)
