So I ordered a Teach N Treat for the buns. I was supposed to be for Christmas, but my husband couldn’t resist the urge to give it to them. We were taking bets on who would be better at figuring it out. He said Leopold since he is a little bolder than Wooly. I started out with little pieces of Oxbow banana in there to get them interested. Here’s what happened.

Leopold was extremely frustrated and kept biting at it. He was vicious, planting both front paws on it and then yanking upward with his teeth. I had it on level one, they are just supposed the slide the disc around with their nose.

Wooly did much better and was simply squishing his nose into the gap until the disc moved enough for him to get the treat. He scratched a little bit, but he was actually scratching in the “right” place (unlike Leopold).

Then my husband said to put some pellets in there since obviously we can’t keep putting banana in there. I did that and Leopold was even more frustrated with it. He grabbed the disc is his teeth and was somehow able to dislodge it from the frame that holds it in. Then he was smashing his face in the holes trying to get the pellets. Unfortunately, he couldn’t get his fat face in there (he’s a holland). The holes are too small. So he was trying to shovel them out with his bottom jaw. Then he’d get mad and just bite at the rims of the holes.

Wooly didn’t have much trouble getting the pellets out. His face and mouth are much more streamlined.

I got some video, but it isn’t very good. I will post it later.

Hahahah. A video of this would be great! Would you recommend buying this?

Is this the one from Bunspace? Flat plank with two removable discs and strings/beads coming off them? Tried that with Mimzy. He played with it once using their chamomile bites and then totally snubbed it.
I don’t think it was designed for Holland nosies.

Hahaha. Otto also has problems getting his smushy face into the holes. I know exactly what you mean.

We always think of Otto being stupid, but he was actually better at it. He struggled to do it elegantly (he just kind of digs at the things until they come off) but he sticks with it until he’s done. Hannah gets frustrated and loses interest easily. She’s also very interested in picking the pieces up and running around with them, so sometimes she forgets her objective. lol

I think I am going to get it for my buns Christmas Present. Would you recommend it?

I’ve heard it’s a fun toy for them. Mine wouldn’t be very good at it though… I put a craisin in their hay the other day to see if they’d forage and they just looked at the hay and looked at me and was like “WHAT DID YOU DROP IT FOR SLAVE?”

Would I recommend it? I haven’t been able to give it a full review yet, so I don’t know. I think it is worth it if you want to see your bunnies frustrated. LOL I wouldn’t buy it with the expectation that they will be good at it or enjoy it. I think it really depends on the rabbit and it is a sort of wait and see kind of thing. Wooly was the one I thought would have problems, but he actually did pretty well.
