I am going to start the bonding process between these two tomorrow. I am NERVOUS!

They have been side by side in their enclosures for nearly a week now. They like to lay as close as possible and even shared a piece of bell pepper through the bars.

I am going the laundry basket route tomorrow as it is what kickstarted the bond between Tater and Joey as Tater can be a bit of a butt if the other bunny allows it.

        Wish us all luck!

His name makes me chuckle every time I say it. Spud.

I’ve bonded my fair share of buns over the years I always love it even if it is a stressful bond I know it is worth it in the end.

Lol I LOVE BBFFL! I’m using that from now on.

Someone is excited about his date tomorrow. Tater on the other hand is more excited about his nanner and won’t come out of his box for a picture.

First session down. It went pretty well. We started on the washer as you can see in the photos. I then moved them both to the laundry room floor since that is the only place Tater has never been in my house. I didn’t take pictures because I was too focused on watching their behavior. It went pretty well. Tater tried to hump Spuds head a few times and there was a tiny bit of chasing but nothing to be concerned over. At the end of the session, they were grooming themselves sitting next to each other. My laundry room has awful lighting so these look like they were taken 10 years ago lol.

Bonding is going pretty smoothly. Moved them to a new unfamiliar area today. Everything went well. Tater Tot did start having tantrums over the box so I removed it. But other than that they hopped around together, shared a piece of lettuce and then smooshed together for a little while.

Tater was terrified of the floor at first lol his eyes were HUGE!

                          Where are we going???

                          Grooming!

Waverly had to come supervise for a little while

His eyes are so big!!! Poor dude was scared!

I was a little surprised to see Tater doing the grooming as he’s definitely asserted himself as the “alpha” bunny. But he groomed Spud for a good five minutes.

Bonding is going great. Excuse the terrible picture they were running around like madmen. We have moved to slightly familiar areas. This is on a guest bed (covered so all the hay doesn’t get on the actual bed lol) that they both like to run around and hop on and off of throughout the day. There’s been lots of grooming. The only issue I’m having at the moment is Tater Tot likes to chase Spud if I give Spud a treat before him. But other than that they are getting along really well.

Sounds great, glad they are doing so well! Ruby still charges and growls at Elmer when they hear me open the treats. I guess she is afraid he already got something? Thankfully he evades her with hops and running in circles and doesn’t get too upset.  I have to give them the exact quantity that they will finish at the same time so no one tries to steal from the other.

OMG the chasing over treats is such an issue! Cooper will go after Bonnie if he hears anything that sounds remotely like the treat bag. I have to time them so they aren’t right next to each other when I get the bag out!

Tater is the boss period. Even if they are in their pens I have to give him a treat first or he throws himself a fit. Lol.

Surprisingly in my experience, Nethie’s have a similar personality to English Lops. He acts so much like both my previous EL’s Oliver and Moonshine.

These two will be moving permanently into a double pen tomorrow! They’ve been together fully for a week with no issues and it is time.

Don’t mind the floor Tater thinks play time is poop everywhere and dump pellets time.

Yes, Tater’s nails on his one paw are long. He is problematic at nail clippings so it takes around a week to do all 4 feet.

A fried designing bunny safe POTATO decor. I just bought the boys potato-shaped toys. It’s going down LOL.

This was the easiest bond of my life. They will still have separate food bowls because Tater is a drama baby about being fed first.

I was honestly surprised at how fast they bonded. Especially with how jealous Tater can get. I thought just normal bonding would be rather quick but was prepared for a long bonding time over food, hay, and treats. I still have to give him treats first but they are sharing everything with no issues. For now they have a pen in my living room for the day and in my bedroom at night until I am positive living together won’t results in fights.
