Besides the obvious (like the vaccume cleaner) What things have you incidentally found out your rabbit is afraid of?

Or, what things did you expect him to be scared of (like the vaccume cleaner) but were suprirsed he wasn’t afraid of?

Well, when watching the TV series Buffy tonite, the first episode that has Spike in it, we discovered that Squirrel does NOT like Spike’s voice. he was thumping non stop every time Spike spoke in the episode. We had to keep pausing it to let Squirrel relax.

Oh. And Smudge and Moose are afraid of plastic bags.

Bindi hates hearing monsters or animals growling on tv. I always make Ricky turn down the tv at growling parts.

@Monkeybun, LOL, I’ve been watching a ton of Buffy and Angel since I’m hanging around my apartment solo, Kate and Spence probably think the characters live here.

Kate has taken to thumping everytime I open the oven door or cook anything on the stove top. Before moving here I think she thumped once, when I took Spence away for a nail trimming. Now the second I open the oven it’s *zoom, thump, direction change. zoom, thump, direction change.* And then when I get done, she looks at me, thumps and run and hides. It’s crazy! She’s also afraid of my bunny slippers and anytime there is anything that beeps or is a high pitch alarm type noise on TV, Katie freaks. Spence… well nothing phases him.

Remmy is not afraid of the vacuum. I thought he would be but I guess not! He is a brave bunny… I think the only time he’s been afraid is when I had the windows open one night and a skunk sprayed somewhere outside. The whole room smelled like skunk and he did not like that!

The carrier. Wooly practically has a heart attack when he sees it coming. He knows it means he’s going for a ride.

They have absolutely no fear of loud noises. There were a ton of fireworks last night for the opening ceremony and it was really loud because it wasn’t that far away (maybe half a mile). They didn’t even blink. They also could care less about the vacuum and Leopold has gotten sucked several times because he comes over and tries to sniff the hose.

I second what LBJ said. The carrier. Chacha hates that thing and knows where she’ll be going.

                    The ringing telephone too.

Tank isn’t afraid of his carrier, despite the fact that I only ever take him to unpleasant places with it (the vet, to get his nails trimmed, etc xD)

The pizza though. Oh man. I was eating pizza next to his living room cage for a long time, and I thought maybe he’d like to sniff something new, so I lowered it into his cage. He scrambled away from it. Thinking that it was just because I thrust it at him too quickly, I tried to gently push it closer. NOPE. He scrambled as fast as I have EVER seen him move his fat, old butt into his box xD

Pizza scares me too, but mostly because I’m lactose intolerant and mozzarella is evil =x

Frankie has balls of steel (metaphorically… he hasn’t had his bits in years). The only thing he really gets cautious about is hearing a dog collar jingle because our dog is a big doofus. He would never hurt Frankie on purpose, but he’s a big clumsy pitbull, so Frankie wants nothing to do with his heavy frolicking.

Nova isn’t scared of the broom like I thought he would be. He actually plays with it!

He hates spray bottles however, he is a single rabbit so he has claimed me as his “mate” ( that is SO wrong! I’m your mama you doof!) so he does love bites on my arms in an attempt to groom me back. I hate to do it but I can’t have him biting to I mist him with a spray bottle when he tries to groom… He probably should get a mate soon…

Oh and he hates distant gunshot sounds! I have no idea why.

Also the smell of my skin cream that I have to put on to get rid of horrid acne ( I hate it!)

Lolli is scared of the vaccuum. And yelling. lol But most of the time, nothing much phases her.

Eddie got freaked out by an orange. Yes, the fruit. I was on the couch, peeling one for the first time after I’d gotten him. He hopped on the couch, proceeded to slowly creep over to me. When I put the orange near, he scrambled backwards as fast as he could and thumped. But then the dingbat came back and eventually ate some. I never did figure out what was so scary about the big bad orange in the first place cause after that he got all excited whenever I ate one. LOL

                              hahaha these are great.
Huckles isn’t afraid of the vacuum at all. She only moves when it is about to suck her up.
loud noises don’t phase her either, I think, because she grew up listening to Call of Duty noises… All day… And all night. She doesn’t like the smell of any kind of meat though, so when she inspects our dinner for any tasty table scraps she might be able to snatch when we aren’t looking, if ahe finds meat, she gets highly offended. She doesn’t thump much but yesterday she did when I decided to have a deep grooming session. It was like french braiding a 4 yr olds hair. She pushed me away, thumped, grunted, snarled, etc.

Both my rabbits don’t like it when you open up a soda. I’m guessing the escaping carbonated gas sounds like a snake hiss to them.
Strange thing – Maryann isn’t afraid of the shop vac but the normal vacuum scares her to death. Maybe it’s the slightly higher pitch.

Oh, and as I’ve mentioned before, Maryann will thump a warning 70-80% of the time anywhere from 10 minutes to 6 hours before a good size (2.0+) earthquake hits.

And I’m trying to deduce what happens every evening between 1 and 1:30 am that causes a thump to come from the bunny room. I don’t know who’s doing it but it happens that time every night.

Squirrel is also scared of the microwave beep. Freaks the heck out of him. It beeps, he dives for cover. Last night I had something in the microwave, I just gave the buns their greens…. it beeped, he ran. He peeked out, grabbed a leaf, ran and hid again. He did that a few times, peek out, grab noms, hide again. He was scared, but wanted his leafy goodness at the same time

LOLZ….Adipose? (Gotta know Dr. Who to get that one.)

Fiver will at times go into a spasm of thumps for no apparent reason. He is definitely hearing something I am not, which is not surprising because I am probably going deaf in at least one ear.

None of the buns like the vacuum…but they don’t make much fuss over it. Just a lot of wide eyed glances and survival stances. But I don’t test it and do it only when I really have to. It’s my cat who hates it more and I just despise having to scare the crud out of him everytime I break it out. It takes me hours to find him after a total sweep of the house.

Mostly, my buns fear the sound of either my husband’s or my son’s voices. Pip will thump, sometimes Mimzy too. Fiver just looks like he wants to go hide somewhere because the other two are complaining. The only thing they dread more perhaps is the medicine dropper.

they go right to Riler’s cage and let him out, or right to his treat cabinet (yes, he has his own cabinet for his treats  and get him his favorites.
I think my rabbit is more popular than me! Hopefullly I can someday find a boyfriend with the same love for my pets!

I’ve just discovered this a few minutes ago.

I was in my bedroom ironing my t-shirt, and here comes Miss Chacha coming down the hallway. She loves my room, she really does. As soon as she sees me with this hot instrument in my hand, she ZOOMS back into the living room!
