(Two outdoor unaltered bunnies male & female, old male young female. Kept seperate)

So things are going ok, their diet is now good, i give them one cup of veggies a day (right now they bareley will eat one, so i will gradually increase the veggies) and they have timothy hay avaliable and less pellets. but My rabbits have traded personalieies. Jenna was SUPPOSE to be the rabbit that I got when she was young so I was practically her mom and she loves me a lot, but that was a stupid thing to expect. She is a wild crazy, rabbit that insists on making me bleedand gives me HECK when I attempt to hold her. Greyson. the stubborn nervous scared one who makes me bleed sometimes, and wont tolerate holding. well since I got Jenna he is now the sweetie pie who loves to be petted, wont even fight me holding him (though he doesnt really like it and now compared to her he is as light as a feather. Jenna is so weird, I can understand her not liking being held but she is an extreme. BUT I have a plan! I just rearranged her cage soshe can come out of her door and into her travel cage so it is all hands off. Hope fully after luring her in with a banana sevral times and taking her to the run she will learn than it leads to good things. Before we re arranged her cage I got her out and I have big scratches all over my face and arms, She is kind of scared in her cage, if i touch her under belly she will freak out and she wont come too clse to the door. I do understand her fear and hopefully with time it will improve. But as soon as she hits the ground in her run she is a completley different bunny, racing around and laying so rrelaxed, letting me pet her ANYWHERE. She is sooooo happy like a completley different bunny. But I have seen her do binkies in her cage too.  She confuses me but I think our new method of going out wil have a tremendous effect on our relation ship. As far as neutering Greyson we are still checking around, I check one place and it was $165!!! I thought it would be much less so I am still calling. I will keep you guys up dated! I smell like I have been with pet all day (i wonder why) so i am going to take a shower

I think having her spayed would lessen the cage agression she’s showing, but for now using a carrier to move her from hutch to run is a good idea.

            Hi,
I would agree that the next step is to have her spayed. It will definitely have a favorable effect on her behavior, which is probably due to hormones that set in as she became a teenager. More importantly though, females are HIGHLY suseptable to uterine cancer. It’s like an 80% chance or higher in rabbits that are not spayed. It is an awful ordeal to go through, plus the expense of a spay now is little compared to the medical treatments should she develop cancer. Actually, $165 isn’t that high in today’s vet prices, but you could call different exotics specialists to compare what the rabbit savvy vets charge in your area. A spay can be more because it’s a more delicate operation. Well worth it.

Another suggestion for their behavior is to consider the option of bringing them inside as house rabbits. Bunnies are very clean to have indoors if you care for their habitats daily. And they bond with you much more easily. It’s really wonderful to come home, rain or shine, to a happy house bunny.

Those teenage bunny behaviors can be very frustrating! It sounds like you’re doing well to work around invading her space by having her come out on her own. There is not a lot you can do to stop the territorial behaviors until she is spayed.
