If it was a danger to wildlife, I think we would know by now. It’s kind of sad what ridicules stuff they come up with now. Why aren’t they worried about bunnies getting drunk? We all know they can open cans…

  It’s weird how a lot of people seem misinformed about “trancing” their rabbits for the heck of it. I can NEVER condone that behavior myself. The rest was great, though!

  I’m picturing a bunny playing Call of Duty and eating Papa John’s pizza! haha Hazel I don’t think Pumpkin can open cans but she’ll shove her face into any nearby alcoholic beverage if she can! I know JP–the video would have been perfect w/o it!

  Well marijuana has been around for a long time, but the hybrid varieties not so much (evolutionarily speaking). That being said, I don’t think THC affects rabbits in the same way it does people. I mean, they will eat catnip and it doesn’t affect them the same way it does cats. Hmm, this is actually interesting. I wonder if there is any information on this.
  
  Anyway, I doubt we will see any high rabbits hanging around marijuana fields. Then again, there are jaguars that intentionally eat poisonous plants to get high.

  I read an article from the New York Times Science dept (sounds legit, right) that stated cats cannot, in fact, smoke marijuana. I about died laughing. I told my husband I guess that’s just another life limitation they face because of lack of opposable thumbs. Lol

  I guess it would be hard to tell how it affects them without being able to ask. Unless of course there was an obvious reaction, like cats have to catnip. Somehow our cat doesn’t care about catnip, she loves bleach, though.
  
  I never heard about jaguars eating poisonous plants! But there are lots of animals that go out of their way to get high. Dolphins get high off of puffer fish, lemurs get a high from the poison of giant millipedes and tons of animals like to get drunk by eating fermented fruit.

  Very true Hazel. And yes, there is a percentage of cats that are not affected by catnip. My kitty was that way. I would get a really strongly scented catnip toy. He would give it a sniff, lick in nose, and then walk away. LOL

  We all know that rabbits quite frequently set up meth labs when their owners are away at work etc. From meth, the step to marihuana isn’t far I imagine. I’ll def have a little talk with my bunbuns. (“Don’t use marihuana boys, it’s bad for your memory and lots of other stuff in your temporal lobes.” “But we don’t have temporal lobes, mama.” “Oh. Forgot about that. Don’t use marihuana anyway, boys. It’s illegal.”)

  Queensland Australia ought to start growing edible marihuana asap. That way legalizing house-bunnies wouldn’t be a problem, any bunnies that by chance did manage to escape would immediately stuff themself with marihuana and then be obliterated by cars or predators.

  This is so adorable aha! Maybe I should check if there’s some marijuana in my house… The video of the rabbit being bathed is on YouTube and the comments are awful. One stated that they’ve worked at PetSmart for years and that trancing a rabbit is fine. I went off on that guy!
