It happened so quickly,, this morning i woke up at 6 and brought Tabs onto the couch with me for some snuggles. Instead of her usual habit of turning around and backing into my armpit, this time she just stayed with her head down and towards it while i gave her ear and headrubs for about 10 mins before putting her back in her pen. I went to finish up some cleaning in the bathroom on the other side of the house and when i came back around 7:30 i saw her flopped at the front of the pen between her water dish and food bowl. Tabs has always been a deep-sleeping flopper, and would usually give me quite a scare until i had called her name several times. This time the fear turned to horror after she didn’t wake up. I checked her and she was already gone. I don’t know if it happened quickly or what, but the fact that i found her right where she always sleeps at least leads me to believe that she wasn’t scared or in pain and it happened instantly.
Aspen was still under the willow tent watching. She has now lost both of her sisters from the 2010 phoenix backyard rescue. I thought the trio would be around forever.
