I was reading here that sweet potato is good to give to rabbits?  How would I do that?  Like raw?? THat just seems so weird.  I just cut it up and give it to them??

If you look under Bunny Ino and Diet here on BinkyBunny it references a list that says sweet potatos are on the “No” list.  So I would not feed them- they are higher in starch and sugar.

          What does everyone else think?

I don’t think they’re poisonous but because of the high starch/sugar as you mentioned they aren’t something you should feed. Although i was wondering too about occaisionally as I just bought some (trying to learn to cook) and thought they could have a small peice…Anyone else know for sure?

I don’t think they are poisonous either just not good for them. They are starch and not a vegetable. I’ve heard of people feeding them to their rabbit but I don’t really advise it.

OK thanks!  I thought it was weird when I saw it on the “good” list..since I had never heard of that before.

Interesting..I have never given it to my buns just because we don’t eat it either. But I noticed that this is listed as an ingrediant in those new “rabbit smacks” treats everyone is carrying. Specifically it is in the new Pumpkin cookies they are selling. Weird combo.
