First of all, sorry if I am posting in the wrong section… I didn’t know wether to post it in the lounge or here. I guess it’s sort of a legit behaviour question?

Without further ado! What is the ONE thing that will mortally offend your bun?

As for me, Kuro lets me do anything: I touch his belly, his butt, his feet, his privates, I lift him to the couch… even when I have to hold him to do check-ups he’s a bit moody for a bit and then he’s normal again. BUT! If I happen to touch in any way his butt hole he’s like “damn gurl u didn’t just do that!!!” and goes to super sayan mode.

(No I don’t touch rabbits’ butt-holes for a hobby, it just happens sometimes XDDD)

Of my Three, Blue is the easiest to offend. Simply if i am eating or drinking something and i do not atleast offer to share it with him, i will have the bunny butt treatment for atleast an hour after

Lola hates when I don’t give into her begging!

She goes into grunting attack mode if I ever stick my hand into her cage to grab/move something.

Do not, under any circumstances, touch Wooly’s butt or his back feet. No, no, no, NO!

If I (try to) pick him up. Then I see lots of flicking Chewie feet and get the cold furry shoulder until the next time food’s on the horizon.

When I don’t share Enough of my apple snack I get the sulky bunny butt

Angel hates sudden noises, she’s freaked out at the postman putting letters through the letter box before and whenever we open a fizzy drink bottle.

Thumper has extremely ticklish feet, which can make trimming his nails a challenge! He’s gotten quite lazy in his old age, so the best way to get him moving is to touch his feet.

My Luna absolutely HATES being picked up and will go into kicking mode so I have to hold her tight if I want to even TRY to cut her nails then when I let her down she will give me the feet flicks haha but she gets over it after I give her a piece of banana or sweets

Same goes for my Venus. She doesn’t like being picked up but she won’t struggle if I do. She’s relatively chill until I put her back in the play pen and then she’ll show her displeasure towards me by doing the feet flicks and giving me the cold shoulder by avoiding my approaches. She gets over it in a few minutes though because I always give her bananas after I’m done holding her for whatever reason.

Cooking. I’m serious, cooking in the oven or on a frypan (mainly meat products) will send my two into hiding. I don’t blame them, the smell of meat can’t be appealing to a prey animal. So far I haven’t seemed to offended them too much in general terms.

Your answers bring back memories! When I first got him, he absolutely hated cooking (any cooking, probably because of the sudden smell.. then I installed better vents) and he’s still frightened by the most ridicolous thing, like when downstairs someone flicks the light switch xD

Chester used to be so upset with cooking! He’s much better now, and only complains about bacon and fish now

I think the 2 biggest offenses here are reprimanding him when he’s doing something he’s not supposed to and moving stuff around. Any kind of move means a disgruntled bunny! Little creature of habit

Picking up my bunnies is very offensive to them, and so is touching their feet.

Try to decongest and her eyes bug out. You have to leave the room or she’s terrified.

Odette doesn’t mind me touching or holding her. But I have to move her boxes and toys, crate, etc to vacuum. She gets so mad if I put her stuff back wrong. I watched her nudge a box back into the proper space because I’d placed it a few inches off. I’m not kidding. She nudged the box until it was perfectly straight and in place. Then she gave me the butt. She’s a personality.

Guin – hates the sound of plastic bags. Hates it when I’m picking up stray poops and touch her whiskers, or the tips of the fur.
Lancelot – I haven’t discovered what offends him yet. He gets grouchy and turns his back on the world sometimes, but I havent’ figured out why.
Avalon and Morgana – when the cockatiels get into a loud raucous squaking chorus with no buildup, or when I turn on the vacuum cleaner. They start thumping. It they thump at night, the cockatiels get a fright, fly, land on the ground, scare Avalon and Morgana, and they thump harder.

Nail clippings. Even when I’m just clipping my own nails, Guinness will start thumping.

They’re also guilt us if we eat without giving them their veggies. If we’re eating before them, they’ll hop up to the gate and just stare until we give them their plate.

Bam slams the lid of his small litterbox if he feels he hasn’t been given enough food. He always has hay of course and hay pellets, but that’s stuff he eats when the humans (aka the slaves) can’t be summoned.

Mordecai gets offended if you touch his feet, or his tail. He’s pretty tolerant about being picked up, but he gets really impatient if you just hold him. He also hates water, even a drop. If he accidentally puts a paw in the water dish, he’ll spend a long time shaking out his paw and licking it dry.

Ava on the other hand, couldn’t care less if you touch her tail. She doesn’t really like having her feet touched but she’s more tolerant then Mordecai. Mordecai really only wants his head and ears pet while Ava likes full body massages. She doesn’t hate water either. She likes to drink water while it’s pouring and won’t move or react if she sits in a puddle of water. She’s the type to sit in the water bowl and be like “my butt’s wet? so what?” She’s more territorial and food aggressive and will grunt at you even as you’re giving her the food. She also hates being picked up.

I turn the tv back to face the couch and he runs away very offended… I guess he likes sports XD he’s a normal italian male

She really hates when you touch her feet, which is a shame because they are so dang cute! The couple of times I did, she avoided me for hours after. But she doesn’t react too badly if you touch her tail or bottom, I know most buns don’t like that, but thankfully she’s only slightly annoyed by this haha

My Bibble is on antibiotics right now, and gets mortality offended when I put him into a “bunny burrito” to give them to him. He hates being wrapped up, but won’t sit still long enough to take the meds otherwise. Afterwards he glares at me for hours! But I can usually bribe him into liking me again with bunny “cookies”.

Ohhh yes, Brynn, I had to do antibiotics AND critical care when Demi went into stasis after her surgery. This is the NUMBER ONE WORST THING you can do to make her mad, even though it’s saving her life. It’s so, so tough but necessary. She’ll forgive you eventually, I can send proof if you’d like  I wish you both the best!

I think the second worst thing I have done which really traumatized her was during our move. She used to be good with being picked up, because it meant I’d bring her on my lap and pet her forever. But during our move from Boston to Atlanta, we stayed in hotels and were on a tight driving schedule so we had to leave the hotel and didn’t have time to wine and dine her. She was already pretty grouchy from being in the car so long, and I put her in her carrier unwillingly. She forgave but did not forget. Just the sight of her carrier makes her raving mad!

                                                        Whoops.

Also if I’m eating and don’t share with her. Putting my hand into her bowl when she’s moody leads to her pouncing at me as well. LOL. And when I touch her toes, she pulls them away. There were times she peed on the floor and I was cleaning it up with napkins and she attacked me because she wanted the napkins… She even bit me once for this XD

My Ollie will get very offended if my parakeets start squawking or if I start up the vacuum cleaner.

Additionally, if I am not there the second he demands more food — even if there’s still a suitable amount in the bowl — he will grab the bowl in his mouth and flip the whole thing over, making pellets fly EVERYWHERE and all over not only his pen, but my kitchen too.

Lastly, if I try to rearrange anything in his pen, he will fix it. He has this special rattan ball meant for bunnies and he loves it, he never goes anywhere without it. So, I figured, while he was stretching out in his bed, why don’t I offer it to him? Mistake 1: rearranging rabbit’s habitat. He grabbed it in his mouth and with a naughty head flick, threw it out of his bed and then followed it, hopping after it until it was in the right place.

These are just my suggestions. Please seek an experienced veterinarian if you have medical needs / questions. Thank you!

Persephone (the queen bun) also gets offended if I “demand” her to groom me (putting my hand too close under her chin or something). Persephone is easily offended tho so I usually just let her get stompy and she’ll be fine soon. I haven’t done anything yet to really upset them eheh.

He takes to nipping and attacking my ankles until i lay down on the floor then he flops against me. And then when i do manage to get out his 3m x 4m enclosure its “rattle rattle rattle” on the bars and throws his ball with a bell in, around on the hard floor.
